Hi, stuck here in stalham I’ve noticed lots of helicopters flying over.

Are we near a heliport?

Yes, they fly out to the gas/oil rigs in the North Sea.

You're on the flight line to the North Sea oil and gas platforms - there's a pretty constant shuttle over Broadsedge but you get used to it. It was interesting there on Wednesday night about 9 p.m. when we heard a different sound and a pair of Chinooks went blattering over heading North!

Also The RAF and the American  airforce  fly over  most parts of Norfolk Suffolk.

Sure are.

It's always amusing going into Norwich Airport for an early flight, where gate 3 is 'KLM to Amsterdam' and the other destinations are ConocoPhillips, Shell Expro etc...

There are more flying from Norwich now, since they closed the helicopter base at GY near the greyhound stadium.

Every now and then a V22 Osprey chunters over Felixstowe heading for off the mouth of the Deben, if you're in the bar at the sailing club you get a grandstand view of gentlemen in black jumping out into the oggin without parachutes then being scooped up into a big rib by other gentlemen in black. Makes a change from the Apaches from Wattisham.
