The owners of Buccanneer Boats in Brundall have announced that they are retiring from the Dayboat Hire Business. They will continue to offer private moorings and Houseboat holidays.

That is a bit of a suprise, they have only recently invested in a number of very nice new day boats.

Making money out of day boats is nowhere near as easy as it might seem.  You need to be in a place where there is a constant passing trade, of which the classic, is Wroxham Bridge.  They need to go out every day of the week in season, not just at weekends.

I also seem to remember that this company were insisting on the "right kind of customer" to hire their luxury boats.

You have to take what you can get in that business, I am afraid.

Brundall  is a lovely  place,but agree its not like Wroxsham. Also very sad another boatyard lost there.

Indeed. Lovely boats they run, though they are a bit pricey compared to a traditional Broads launch and not as hard-wearing I suspect.
