Broads01
They've been offering discounts for a while but that's the biggest I've seen.
SwanR
First weekend of the new fishing season too. I did have a look but even at a discounted rate the June prices are too high for me this year, especially for just 3 nights.
DAVIDH
That's a hefty discount. Barnes are offering 20% discounts too. Bookings seem to be around 10% down on this time last year (for Hoseasons), though interestingly, above the level they were at in 2019, the last year before Covid affected booking patterns. Perhaps more people will book late with things as they are, knowing what disposable income they have to play with. Maybe it's just Ferry correcting an imbalance in their hire rates. A little surprising that the good weather doesn't appear to have instigated a rush to book. It could turn out to be a poor year for the yards, hotels, pubs, and other infrastructure. If so, let's hope there won't be casualties.
oldgregg
I think there's an element of price correction that needs to happen. Personally, I was looking to hire over August B/H but hire prices have gone up year on year for the last couple of seasons and they're at a level where I made the decision to do something else instead. Boating has never been cheap (and never will be) but when hiring is more than a luxury hotel break where one doesn't have to sleep on an uncomfortable bed and try to fit into a tiny shower then something doesn't feel quite right.

Blimey John, if you're deciding not to hire then things are really bad 😀

Next you will be telling us these “luxury hotels” have hot water whenever you want it 😃
