Coolmatic Fridge

Recommended Posts

We have just changed our boat for a Sheerline 950 Tri-cab but the

cockpit fridge has the door locking button missing.

The fridge works well and looks ok so I can't justify buying a new

fridge for the sake of a £15 part that is now obsolete and no-one

seems to have!

Perhaps my only chance here, is that there may be one laying about

in a corner of a marina or boatyard that has been forgotten!

Can anyone help with this please?

The photo was sent to me by Alan (Ranworth Breeze), who has

been very helpful up to now, but it still has'nt produced one!!

The photo is only a guess but looks to be the missing item.

It holds the door closed when transiting or ajar when leaving

the boat to come home.

Good heavens Frank!

If you were a female........Id'e marry you  :kiss

I'm awaiting a call from Gary at Sheerline (Wroxham Marine)

as he says he may have one but will have to seach for it.

If he can't find it I'll give one of them a call. But £45

The cheap one on your list I could make but I want to

do a proper job if at all possible.

'Stay Tooned' as they say!

Matt! did you look at the price they are asking for that tiny bit of plastic?? I thought the first two I gave were cheap compared to the others varying from £60 to £72, you be better off buying a second hand one from Flea/bay, spares for those fridges are no joke, £115 for a new thermostat, talk about being ripped off,,

Nothing surprises me with appliance spares prices. Agree, 100% rip off! I ordered two fibre guides for a tumble drier, once, probably cost about 0.001p to manufacture, buying price plus P&P £36.00p! All because that company had the sole licence to make and sell them.

cheers Iain.

Thats News you've kept quiet.

When people start to recognise us when we're out, it's time to change  :naughty:

Frank. I rang those people at Swordcrown Caravans and they came back

after 45mins with the correct item!

£21.45p including postage etc. They rang Dometic with the details and

they found one which they will send to them and then forward on to me!

Best bit was that the guy I spoke to used to live here!

What a result!

Again, thanks for the help Frank.

Will let you know when it arrives if is the right item..........

Update........

They rang today to say that they have been sent the wrong items but Dometic claim it is the correct one!

I have now emailed a photo through so that they can forward it to Dometic and hopefully locate the correct item!

mmmmmmmmmmmm.................

Right......Time for an update!

Swordcrown caravans came up with a substitute after many

phone calls (From them I might add!) and with a bit of

machining by a good friend with a lathe, it's now sorted  :dance

The tip of the locking pin needed machining from 5.5mm to

4mm diameter and works perfectly!

Swordcrown Caravans went way over what you expect from

customer service, in my opinion, for a sale of a £22 part.

I can't recommend them enough.
