  1. That should be interesting to watch, having had a few ourselves in the past and probably will have a few more to look forward to. Does dodging the spots count, when will it stop raining and this afternoon we have had hail.
  2. Gosh I got up at 5 , seems I have had a lay in this morning compared to you two. Happy St George's Day to you too. This was all I could find that remotely resembles our flag.

  5. What really gets my goat and I cannot get my head round is the fact that daft people pay a monthly fee to these people , who on the whole are on a glorified paid for holiday all year round. I watch a lot of canal videos. Watching them buying cars, campervans, trips abroad etc. One guy with a dog has a fabulous bungalow and gets piles of parcels from Amazon on a weekly basis that people send him. I am not talking cheap items , boxes and boxes of dog food , biscuits etc. Expensive equipment for the house and garden. Top price electrical items, electric bikes, I mean they just cannot lose and these people send them money each month. Gift Cards for stays in hotels. Am I missing something. They send him , a complete stranger , better gifts than I could ever afford for the family.
  6. Hu hum!! Do you like hospital food?
  7. Speaking of Mums mine passed in 2016, when clearing her house, the third bedroom under the bed we found jar upon jar of jam from the 1970s. It was good enough to tarmac the road with. Perhaps we should have kept them and used them to fill the pot holes outside in the road.
  8. Hands up anyone that hasnt dont something like this. I know I have. Thought I had got out some chicken puffs and they turned out to be apple. Didnt go down well. I do try now to label things.
  9. We still use cash for the Window Cleaner, Chiropodist , Car Wash etc. I do still use a cheque book and often receive cheques. I pay these into the local shop which has a post office. I would never put my on line banking on my mobile phone and only will use it on my desk top. The App sends shivers down my spine as I have never ever found one that is anything like it is cracked up to be. The Bank in Beccles has closed so no option for getting cash or paying in cheques there anymore and this is progress!!!!
  10. I would imagine as where we live, paying in cheques, getting cash (some of us are not keen on cash points) is vital to a lot of elderly folk. The shop that is attached is also a godsend. This will be a great loss.
  11. Yes Gracie and being ex Navy he is more of an old Salt in the true sense of the word. Dont ever change Griff or Gracie.
  12. https://www.northnorfolknews.co.uk/news/24249289.official-date-announced-closure-horning-post-office/?ref=eb&nid=2399&block=article_block_a&u=c160d74be8c30ff96c1e228a4a7f5f71&date=130424 This must be such a blow to the local population. I know with the Banks all closing their branches The Post Office has been vital to us.
  13. I will let you know what I was told - probably a load of rubbish but here goes - a boat with its fenders down at sea is tantamount to a lady going out with her rollers in her hair!!!! Comments please?
  14. Fenders up or down. Griff what is the Royal Navy saying. Keep it clean.
  15. Sorry that should read 'cant' see this happening.
  16. Spraying it with paint to cover the abusive , rude and offensive signs would be a good idea. What makes the lawless types in this country think they can get away with anything. I can just see this happening in any other country. It just would not be tolerated. It has certainly put us off visiting Sutton Staithe.
  17. Sure is windy. You do pick your weather. A bit like us we always manage to catch a named storm. Hope you get some sleep. At least tomorrow not so bad. Enjoy.
  18. I have sent them an email and asked if they are still open , shop , cafe etc. We will see what comes back. We would like to moor there when we hire.
  19. Speaking of coinage and nothing to do with the Broads whatsoever, my Gran once told me (I am nearly 80 so you can imagine how long ago this was) she got on a bus and the fare was 1 old penny, she offered the conductor 4 farthings, he promptly threw them out of the window and said that they were no good whatsoever. I am not quite sure what the outcome was, but my thoughts are be prepared for the Ticket Collector at the mooring to dispose of them in the same manner.
  20. Isnt it so good to see lots of folks all going off on a boat on their holiday, be it short or long, I do hope the weather plays ball and they enjoy every moment. The season is a live again.
  21. Something in the way of being Goosed!!! Now if that is rude these days (as most things are off limits now) forgive me. Hardly Geese Gracie but that is all that I could find.
  22. I didnt take note of that and thoroughly agree, yes have Sky Sports but do it in another part of the building away from those who dont want to watch it.
