  1. Is there NO end to your talents Paladin
  2. Oh goodie, posh new Bath Tubs! Now all I require is to win the Lottery to hire one!
  3. This was tried in I think 1978 Gas alarms on hire craft I had on STREAMWAY from Richardsons then, but were so sensative folks switched them OFF! Crazy I know but fact.
  4. I ran 4 meets from a AOL chat room several years ago. Had folks from as far as the USA attend. I agree with the "Admiral" if you listened to all the suggestions etc you would get nowhere fast! Do it the way you see fit and I am sure all will be a success. Best of luck.
  5. As a past Match Secretary of a Golf Club, I can sympathise. Hope you get it sorted
  6. I am sure I remember those steel hulled Braydon Marines boats in the 80's moored well up the River Ant. As for the Chet .....Errrr NO not recommended even after all the dredging! I am sure you will enjoy the cruise up the Ant though, so much to see up there.
  7. From what Walter Coe told me Carol, she limited the number of drinks to the younger generation lol TWO pints! Think it was Tolly Cobbled
  8. Oh remembers a nice little cruiser from Sanderson Marine called that!
  9. All these storms you have been having down south are normally up here in the North. My heart goes out to those poor souls in the West Country.
  10. With all the upset in Somerset Levels can the BA risk making a mistake of any kind with the patrol of ALL the Broads rivers? I am sure our Media would be on to them in a second or two.
  11. I have words for such lowlife. But is not printable on here!!!!
  12. A bit overpriced methinks, there again it could pay for the ranger at Reedham instead of charging £3!
  13. Both lochs have own stats could not agree more. I love a drive up to Luss in Loch Lomond, Balloch also, it only takes me over an hour from here. Thanks to the Erskine Bridge which since having our own Parliament now, is Toll Free.
  14. Hi Alan, I don't know if you are aware, but they say if you fall in Loch Ness at the deepest point, even in Summer you have maximum of three minutes to get out of the water before you drowned. The depth of Loch Ness is staggering! My brother in laws wife was seasick when they did the Cally Canal many years ago. Iain.
  15. Ah one of the most awkward places to get too in Scotland is Campbletown lol ..Toodle round to Machrahanish though for one of the secret gems of a Golf Course there! Still the good news is, its only 82 days till am back on the Broads!
  16. I sincerely hope Alan you were NOT trying to catch Oor Nessie on the Caley Canal. What would out Scottish Tourist Industry have done?
  17. Regarding the fishing rod licence, save time, just go into the Pub in the village and have fish n chips!
  18. This will be my 38th year coming to the place I call heaven! I am in excess of 400 miles away but knows the drive is well worth it! I agree about all forums, but myself personally now that I am now officialy retired and a ex tradesman, still loves a laugh or forty five in all of them!
  19. Come up here Paladin well another 150 miles after me, they have loads of the white stuff in the Cairngorms ! Yer tyres be ideal there lol
  20. Use a better feather for cross pollination of yer Toms should go red ok. Worked for my father in law with his Toms.
  21. I hired from Alan Johnson for many years, a proper gent he was, and his dear wife would not let a hire boat out unless spotless! Loved sitting at the Bridge Inn at Potter, before it burnt down, watching the Pilots work their socks off during the low water time to get as many boats through and back as possible. With the odd puff of sandstone coming off the bridge!
  22. Walter Coe at Locks Inn with sing song nights with John the accordianist by candle light. Castle Bitter! OMG! Discovering many villages had NO street lighting, still many don't have today!
  23. Ah The Eagle at Neatishead as you walked into the village on the right. Iffy paper money all over the walls. From memory ran by two ladies?
  24. My Avatar is of the first cruiser I hired. Sunglory from Porter & Haylett. £46 for the week £10 TV B/W deposit. £10 fuel deposit. I Can barely get to Norfolk now for that in Petrol ALL in!
