  1. I would also check out Brundall Gardens. Its in a lovely woodland setting. Well equipped too.
  2. I'm afraid Loddon lost a lot of its appeal to me some years ago when I was cast off around 4am and again another night! I'm actually hiring from Loddon this year but will be going away to other pastures!
  3. As the issue around the wearing of face masks continues, I found this youtube effort. The message is pretty clear and is a good way of re-enforcing the message. Howevere, The language is somewhat fruity so the Mods may well wish to move it to the members section. I would mprefer it to be seen by as many as possible because of the importance of the message. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZQkBHysrig&feature=youtu.be
  4. I would think one of the best chances of a decent brewery tour are at Reedham at the Humpty Dumpty Brewery. No bad thing to stick to the south. there are some of the better pubs. There is also the Woodfords Brewery up North. Quieter on the South as well..
  5. Looks a tad like one of the Oulton Broads pubs, "The Bitch In The Ditch" (Lady Of The Lake) or the "Commodore" maybe?
  6. Grendel has it nailed! Minimal correction wil reduce the wandering.
  7. I am far from convinced that holidays in September will actually go ahead. I totally agree with Andy"s analysis of this situation and the creeping increase in figures in the UK and the important "R" number being back to 1 suggest that the next spike is going to be unavoidable. This is backed up by what is happening in Spain, France and Germany who were all better organised than us at the beginning. I take no pleasure at all in saying this and am still greatly worried.
  8. After talking to Ian and benefitting from his great advice, I have ordered some of the face shields which I hope don't restrict my breathing as badly as the hospital supplied face masks. I'm hopeful!
  9. One of the most prolific places that I have seen Kingfishers, especially alomg entry and exit.
  10. Yes, I am well aware of that sadly!
  11. Visiting the local?? Used to be a cracking pub but its a good while since I have been.
  12. The first one was taken easily enough. Because I'm still a bit wobbly, the phlebotomist came today. Failed in my usual arm but managed in the other. Fingers very crossed now for the results!!
  13. I thought they were not compulsory until tomorrow??
  14. Had to go to my GP surgery for blood tests, When I got there, they are obviously aware of my condition nd told me to take it off. Not everyone misunderstands us COPD victims!
  15. Have a week booked for September 18th on Pacific Diamond, Spoke to Fiona yesterday about making the final payment, She told me to hold off until the middle of August as they have no confidence that the Virus will be gone, Was sound advice and demonstrated the sensible attitude to our ears.
  16. Oxford vaccine has an 80% probability of being effective in stopping people who are exposed to the novel coronavirus from developing Covid-19.
  17. New problem and experience for me! New problem and experience for me! On Friday I was asked by my GP to have a full set of bloods done. Here is where Ian may well sympathise being he is a similar COPD sufferer Like myself. In the evening I recieved another call, please take yourself to hospital asap! I'm now very rattled! Ambulance called as well. It was shock to me to find myself in a bed on the Coronary care unit. Seems my blood results were all wonky and in a worrying way! After a couple of days, I was much better, was raise electrto lights! Had a clear ECG but was sproutin three infusions. This seemed to take forever to go, but I did begin to feel better. Failed to address the actual issue I was admitted for. The usual breathless episodes always a bother. I was discharged the next day with the advice, they needed to give! me a very large dose though. I also expeienced a spontaneous need tp pee! Not good at the best of times Not interested a not there field. For others to sort. gave me a lomg list of new medication, but, again, none for my existing condition. Also received another phone call from a much better GP! My other issue was COPD, Again, not an interest to them. hmm, I was discharged the next day with the advice, they needed to give! me a very large dose though. My other issue was COPD, Again, not an interest to them. Now waiting for a visit from the Continence service and District Nurses to have repeat blood tests. Wish me luck, have no wish to go back into Pokey!
  18. Would that have been the infamous Baron of Benwick Dave??
  19. Back up in glorious technicolor at Horning! Good to see. No Barnes camera again.
  20. I, for one, remain totally convinced we need a national and independent TV broadcaster. Yes, there are valid questions and criticisms of both policy and progamming but, overall, we still see many examples of excellent drama productions, some really good journalism (rarer I'll admit) and a recorded resource such as iplayer. I don't resent the licence fee at all and willingly pay this and fervently hope the BBC survives and actually regains some of its independence and fearless reporting!
  21. Still nothing on the Horning cameras and it looks like some scroaty type may have "interfered" with the Barnes site! Nowt there at the moment except "Hello World"!
  22. The Horning River Camera seems to suffer from a few outages! It seems to have ceased life at 6.50 this morning!
  23. Bet the rooks and knights were crunchy!!
  24. Just to be clear, I was referring to our trip up there last September and, yes, Peter, it was Martham's "Juliette" and, yes, I did have to reverse the length of the dyke to leave. Having said that, I have had Martham boats before and they tend to steer very steadily in reverse at a slow pace. I've "shown off" at a few moorings in th past on a Martham boat seemingly getting her into impossible moorings. I got rounds of applause at both Ranworth , into the end side mooring, and reversing the length of Neatishead Dyke. They do handle superbly. This year we are sticking south and going out on "Pacific Diamond".
