  1. Not sure if you have access to fb. If you have take a look at Bridgecraft page. Daniel only just squeezed it through about midnight last night. Guess if he'd of scrapped it his the one that has to fix it lol..
  2. Great video on fb of Daniel from bridgecraft taking Westminster Bridge back through wroxham Bridge at midnight yesterday. Water must be really high.
  3. Cheers marshman, I assumed again that's what happened at potter. Really quite interesting tbh.
  4. Thanks guys I learned something today. Much appreciated 🙏
  5. Cheers Fred, so there's a limit to how far upstream the salt water travels ?? I assumed it affected the whole network.
  6. Can someone please explain the barrier at herbert woods?? Why isn't there one at NBN in Wroxham or richardsons at Stalham?? I assume the fish try and avoid the salt surge in the basins. Apologies if that's a daft question.
  7. Just had a quick look on the boat sales Web site. It has been updated a lot of boats that were listed have been removed. Its normally around this time of year they start adding boats they are selling off. Many don't hang around for long so if you do have a particular boat in mind. I'd call Paul his a very nice guy to deal with. You may even end up buying something you wasn't originally looking at. Like all yards they we sell you most boats in there fleets if the price is right. Good luck.
  8. They will list them on there boat sales website. Or give paul Richardsons a call his mobile phone number can be found on the boat sales Web site.
  9. In the case of bolero, I think she's about the only one of that design and age on hire that hasn't had the upper seating retro fitted. Bit of a trick missed there IMHO. Quite a few of them could really do with a really good compound and polish and some upgrades inside. If your gonna call them platinum and charge platinum tariffs, then make them stand out. Just my veiw....
  10. I say this as a loyal repeat customer of Richardson's. I personally feel they are stretching the term platinum, in some cases. The old alpha designs, bolero suncharm broads harmony etc. Are hardly of platinum quality anymore. I'm sorry if that upsets anyone it's just an honest opinion. The classic fleet offers ( or did ) very good value for money in terms of getting out on the rivers at a reasonable price and with a good standard of basic accommodation and long may that continue. There's absolutely doubt in my mind there has been a change in direction at richardsons. I totally believe they are going for a quality over quantity approach. Better spec boats that demand high tariffs offering them a better yield on there investment. It's exactly what they have been doing at Hemsby. At the end of the day the business needs to evolve to survive. The broads are becoming a niche holiday destination so quality will always win through.
  11. 8ft3 blimey and thought dazzling light was high at 7ft10. I do like these boats Simon and I think the later ones have been improved significantly. I'm glad to hear the inside helm position is OK. If I'm honest that was the one major concern I had with this design. Enjoy the rest of your stay.
  12. There was certainly other platinum fleet boats available that day David. We tried to change broadsman to a commodore, but unfortunately that class wasn't. There must be a good business case for the fancy posh hire boats as I see there will definitely be a 2nd fair regal next season. Now that is a boat I thought might struggle to let. But nope she's flown off the shelf...
  13. I'm all for them keeping the older boats David. Things have also changed at Hemsby David. They are definitely going more upmarket there. We use it for holidays with our youngest granddaughter she loves it there. Sadly I can now get a better deal from havens at hopton and seashore so we have moved on unfortunately.
  14. Very low margins to be made out of some of the older fleet. I said two years ago that they would start moving away from the budget end of the market. You only had listen to what Greg Mundford was saying about the platinum fleet and how well it was doing for them. Things definitely seem to be changing at richardsons especially since Bobby passed away and now Clive has gone. But that's progress I guess.
  15. We use there Hemsby site and same thing being said there as well. Unacceptable price increases. Deffo something has changed.
  16. Always been a fan of the alpha bath tubs. Suncharm being my favourite one of this design. I've got Chelsea Bridge booked for next season as we really like the layout. By the way and a bit of a thread drift ( no shock there lol ) where did alpha craft do all there mould lay ups. Was it at Brundall or St olaves. I wouldn't of thought there was enough space at Brundall to do both...
  17. They normally have a few, I really like the look of Braemore ( i hired her when she was new)But not at that price. I may make a cheeky offer and see where that goes. They can only say no....
  18. Surprised Horning pleasure craft are selling fairway, she's a lovely boat.
  19. Pretty much in line with what we were told 2 weeks ago. Apparently that's pretty much it for the foreseeable future. Allegedly some of these boats are proving unreliable now and are not worth further investment. They intend to keep what's left of the classic fleet and update some of them. New galleys etc. There are more new boats in the pipeline line more RC45 etc. But they are having the same problems as all yards with recruiting skilled boat builders. Wouldn't be surprised to see silverline build 1 or 2 more in the near future for richardsons.
  20. We always stay in Norwich the night before we take a boat over. We use the nelson Purley because of its location. I'm sure there are better hotels in the city but to be fair we've never had a bad stay there. Enjoy your holiday hope the weather picks up for.
  21. What a nightmare...I tend to agree with paladin on this, well for now at least. I'm big enough and I'm sure ugly enough to publicly retract my comments of yesterday and apologies to grendal for my comments. I now totally understand your actions trying to protect the forum. I don't agree with the bill in its entirety but understand its attempt to protect.
  22. I've looked at hiring richardsons one it looks smart and very reasonably priced.I have hired one from CC before and liked it very much. We had a problem with the engine on the one we had.It kept cutting out/ stalling if you moved the morse control to quickly. It packed up at Acle Bridge and the guys from bridgecraft had to rescue us lol. I've seen inside quite a few of the engine bays of the ones at woods and I would say there quite old engines..
  23. The one's I've seen fitted look quite old lol..
