  1. Not sure which one had the argument with the quay at great Yarmouth. She was left with a very big hole on the bow. Certainly looks like this one wasn't lifted last winter and needs a good polish and brush up.
  2. Say what !!! Lol, nice one Vaughan, hopefully this will encourage and give the guy confidence to continue posting here and share his story as it moves forward....
  3. Ah bless him, our daughter has had the same battles I'm afraid, although in our granddaughter case her autism is quite bad. Her junior school have been incredibly supportive. Our daughter finally won her case for extra funding so lexi future educational needs will now be met. An unnecessary 18 months of stress for us ontop of everything else. We'll done to your son Neil long may he continue to succeed 👏
  4. Well done to your son, our youngest granddaughter is autistic so I totally get what a fantastic achievement this is for him 👏 👍
  5. Thanks, I could never understand why richardsons haven't added the crescent style upper deck seating that's now available for these boats. It can't be an issue with Ludham bridge, I believe bridgecraft have and I'm sure barnes have on their older versions. Clive mentioned they were going to a few years back. Guess it didn't get done. She must be 20 years old now at a guess and due some tlc, a popular boat in the platinum fleet.
  6. Oh OK, I know someone that would of probably had that of you as a project for his own boat. Cheers.
  7. Yeah I've seen some photos of the work there doing on malanka, that going to hurt the bank balance lol. What you doing with the old engine Neil are you scrapping it ??
  8. Great photo Neil, when is Rose coming out of the water for new paint etc..
  9. Gentlemen, I'm pretty sure there's a thread about wild swimming already on here, can I kindly suggest thoses that want to debate that head on over there. Same goes for running engines on moorings pretty sure I've seen a thread on that as well. It all just becomes a bit of a mess with with everyone promoting there own agenda and the op gets totally forgotten. Shall we get back to the original topic the constant ruffling of feather and egos becomes a bit boring in the end.
  10. Just had my pre arrival email, car parking is free apparently. To be honest I can't remember if I've paid for car parking in the past at Stalhamim sure someonewill know . The new boat/ captins e manual is a good idea as well IMHO. Well not long now to we are onboard broadsman. I've hyped myself up for this one. I've wanted to hire one of these since they were launched. God I really hope its not a let down.
  11. Not everyone is in bed by 10.30 but I understand where your coming from. That said Ranworth has never been a quite peaceful mooring. The island maybe. You can constantly hear engines running from boats mudweighting. We had electrical issues there ourselves last year, that didn't surface till we got back from the pub at 10pm. A boat from the same yard that was moored next to us had exactly the same problem. There engine was running when we arrived back to our boat. We had no lights heating etc, what do you suggest we should of done ?? Light a few candles, put another jumper on. Never going to happen I'm afraid, I've paid a lot of money and there's no way I'm sitting in the dark on a cold boat. If that makes me selfish, then so be it...
  12. Simple answer to engines being run at night !!! Improve the infrastructure and yards need to improve battery maintenance. We were one of four boats at Ranworth last October having there batteries swapped out. We live in a technology driven world, teenagers want access to WiFi and electricity etc it's as simple as that. I can remember back to my early childhood holidaying on the broads engines running after dark wasa common practice. Engine's back then were far more polluting. I'm with Vaughan on this engines running on a mooring rarely bother me.
  13. Absolute nonsense, anti social...
  14. How on earth is running an engine bad behaviour...
  15. There only a few months old I'd expect them to.
  16. I applauded them for their investment, the boats look great. I personally wouldn't hire one. Way to many restrictions I'm afraid. We've hired new picnic boats from herbert woods and ferry marina both boats cost a great deal more then these to build, we've very few restrictions.I understand there reasons for taking the stances they have but its not for me.
  17. I'm not going to mention the obvious typo...lol. thanks Ian. I've never tried the pub always mean to but never get round to it. I hear good reports about there food. I'm in Stalham soon,we might have a lunch there.
  18. Couple of cans of red bull Andrew I'm sure you'd be fine lol. Only ever done dinghy sailing with my dad on the broads. I enjoyed it and can see the appeal..
  19. Good idea, didn't we use to have one for fuel ?? I'd personally like to know if any restaurants, pubs offer any.
  20. Booked in January David direct with Richardson's. Even if it was last years price, a 500 pounds increase on a 3 night break is stretching things. I've also noticed for the 1st time since these boats were launched, they still have availability left for this season. Even pre pandemic you'd be lucky to hire one this time of the year. They'd be booked solidly for the season. By April.
  21. Woods are due to launch there version soon, will be interesting to see the difference in there fit outs. I've had a look on board both the brinks tempo and serenade and they are cracking boats.
  22. Sadly it's the way of the world Vaughan. Personally I find this a friendly forum on the whole, it's far better than some. I do feel the forum has lost its way a bit and at times it seems like an extension to say Facebook and the likes. But that's fine if that's what members want. There's many post/ topics I'm not interested in or disagree with but I just scroll on by. There are clearly a few individuals that just have to have the last word etc, but hey that's life unfortunately. Don't let it bother you...
  23. 40 quid for breakfast for 2. How on earth did they come up with that. We often eat breakfast along the seafront here in Southend. Thoses that know the area I mean up by the cliffs, about a dozen cafes all in a row with great views out over the Thames to Kent. Even with the ridiculous parking fees it doesn't come to nowhere near 40 quid. From what I remember of this pub it's not in a fantastic location and all you can see is the marina and the odd train passing. Well good luck with that one..
  24. They most definitely have David. I paid 1300 quid for broadsman for a long weekend in Sept. The same class boat on the same start date is know 1800 quid..ummm,something I've never known richardsons to do. I'm a regular customer and I'm pretty spot on with prices.
