  1. Lol. They sure got that wrong...
  2. I'd heard they had started on her, of all clives designs these were slow to take off I think, but seem popular now. Can't understand why they wouldn't finish her and put it into the fleet unless shes been sold. The sedan looked great on paper but maybe be a bit to high for Stalham going forward. Better suited at Horning like far horizon. Hopefully she will get finished and put to work or enjoyed by a private owner.
  3. Hi david, as someone who works in the sector can i ask how you see next season unfolding. Personally i really cant see the high tariffs of last and this season being sustainable. I fear we may see a lot of boats sitting on yards if they maintain there current tariffs. Hope I'm wrong
  4. And I don't disagree, good luck with that one tho. Take a look at herbert woods web cam on turnaround days. The kidds are all playing on the quay whilst handovers are being done and rightly so in my opinion. The children's safety whilst afloat is a parental issue, the hire companies already give out enough safety advise etc. As a child I don't ever remember taking part in the handover apart from being shown and told about our life jackets. But we're getting away from my op I'm not getting into the right and wrongs etc.
  5. I absolutely agree with folk about the hand over, but I don't see it as a make or break issue. If the crew make up is a couple and 2 young children then 99% of the time it's the husband that's shown the ropes very few teenagers will want to stand listening either. As a couple I'd see no point in just one of us aboard as we'd travelled x amount of hours in the same car so as far as covid is concerned totally pointless to separate us. I have no issues with this policy whatsoever. I was just repeating what the lady at richardsons told me.
  6. Oh OK, I'm just repeating what they told me. I know it wasn't the case with herbert woods and I'm sure we were both onboard at Bridgecraft when being shown the ropes. But it's a group of 5 this time so no idea if that changes things. Either way I'm not bothered tbh, As long as were afloat.
  7. Your very lucky re doctor's, no I don't agree, its a much quicker way of doing things. Don't forget richardsons have a duty of care for there employees so minimising contact can only be a good thing. Plus it really isn't a big drama, well I don't think so.
  8. I called them re a request we had and they confirmed over the phone. Only one person allowed onboard while hand over and trial run is done. Pretty much the same as most yards are doing. It's a much better way of doing things then the normal free for all. Rapture is a nice boat enjoy your holiday.
  9. Like I've said we are hiring broadsman for a long weekend this Sept, I'm absolutely gob smacked to discover that they still have availability of this class for the same date and the price has increased by over 500 pounds since I booked our boat. That's absolutely outrageous in my opinion. If you know anything about the platinum fleet at richardsons your know that they sell out year after year. I wonder why they still have some of there best performing boats available 🤔 ummm let me guess. That's just utter greed, ridiculous. It's the 1st time I've noticed richardsons increasing prices like this. A few other things I've noticed I don't like as well since a certain person left Stalham. Ummm.
  10. No it's my phone it does it all the time. Some are quite funny.
  11. Doh...bloody auto correct. Should be checking in...lol could someone please change that before ppl start panicking thanks...
  12. Well two weeks to go for our long awaited trip on broadsman. I've been itching to try these boats since Clive launched them. I've had confirmation from richo that they are maintaining there covid checking in procedures. Has anyone experienced this ? How did it work ? We have a 1pm slot so reasonably early so hoping to be away by 2pm. Stephanie at Bridgecraft runs a similar set up and it worked really well, much better then the normal free for all.

    My Day

I saw there Facebook posts Ian, looks like it was a great success...
  15. I thought that was Merlin Simon, My mother and father use to hire her aswell. We still have my dad's cine film (now on dvd) of their holidays afloat.
  16. Cheers all, we are doing our research there's a few trips we want to make, stingray island in the Cayman islands is top of our list. We have a two day stop over in Havana a city we know well,we spent our honeymoon there and have returned a few times over the years. A lot to look forward to.
  17. I've no idea what to expect but I'm sure it will be fine. Them big carnival ships just look way to big for me.
  18. She's already looking at one for Asia...jeez I'm might have to go back to work..
  19. We bit the bullet this morning and booked our 1st ever crusie for later this year. My experiences of ocean sailings haven't been great to be honest, mainly onboard military transport ships. I really didn't fancy one of those floating American cities. The thought of being stuck on one of them with 3000 loud yanks. Dear god no. My sister is married to one and that's enough for me lol..we've chosen a little week island hoping in the carrabeian then our son and his girlfriend are joining us in Jamaica for our 2nd week. Just hope I've done the right thing, I really don't have sea legs..
  20. Absolutely, nothing better then sitting in the still of the morning watching the world wake up..
  21. Some lovely old girls there..fantastic photos thanks for sharing. My personal favourite is the ripple craft.
  22. Yes of course it was kingfisher, my mistake. What the buyer dose with Griffin marina is up to them. I've not mentioned anything about re development etc. I'm surprised you seem to think 16k per annum is a decent return on such an investment, because I don't. Comparing it to purchasing a house is utter nonsense. It's only my opinion of what I'd like to see happen to the old kingfisher yard instead of a ruined old boat shed etc. Fully aware how difficult it would be to gain planning permission, well unless your a certain family nudge nudge 😉 I'm saying no more on this and wish the new owners all the best..
