  1. And rightly so the Griffin Lane site should stay as it is. I don't agree about the old highcraft site, the chances of that ever becoming a working site again are slim to none. I'd personally rather see some nice properties built on the site then yet another run down vacant boatyard.. as for a 5% yield on my 300k I'd be looking for more then that. Maybe I'm just greedy ah !!!
  2. It's that the same lane the leads down to freedom's old yard ? Now that's a site I'd like to buy. I'd love to build a nice riverside property there.
  3. It does seem the yard was run more as a hobby then a viable business.
  4. Well done, very similar story to my sister. She just stopped after a very bad cough.
  5. Ian I've tried some many times and failed. I know it's wrong but I don't think I actually want to. My kidds and grandkids keep on at me to. I've spent a small fortune of vapping and failed. I guess I'm a lost cause...
  6. Sorry to hear that Ian, all the best for your treatment. I've also had a shock this week, I was at the dentist and he is concerned about a white patch I have on my upper gum and has referred me to the hospital. Unfortunately I'm a smoker and even more annoying I actually enjoy smoking. Stay positive and all the best 👍
  7. Sounds good, glad everyone enjoyed themselves. No to much cake I hope lol..
  8. Saw this yesterday, absolutely no idea how hard it would be to obtain planning permission, but at 16k per annum, it's hardly a going concern.
  9. A waterside garden party in this weather on Oulton broad sounds absolutely fantastic. Enjoy.
  10. All said tounge in cheek from me, not being negative at all. Maybe some ppl need to go to lathams and see if they sell sense of humours. Personally not my thing but I enjoy the coffee shop and the bakery, the rest of it, no thanks. But if its good for both the boating and local community I'm all for it. 😁
  11. Excellent, frozen tatt now. The wife will be chuffed.
  12. Grease, my wife and daughter's favourite film. I believe she'd suffered with breast cancer for sometime. RIP sleep tight
  13. Update !!! Never noticed it. Well done all 👍
  14. Single level boat without a doubt, one that maybe has a decent front well so she could sit out. Cut out transom with steps. That's probably going to be as accessible as a boat gets. Pick you stops and overnight mooring carefully, ones where you can moor stern on.
  15. That's brilliant griff, so easy. Sadly I'm guilty of using a mallet. Not anymore. Thanks.
  16. Bridgecraft might be worth a call. They have broadsgates down at Stalham.
  17. I've had many day trips in August but never a holiday. Even when our children were younger we tried to avoid the broads in the height of summer. I really enjoy September things seem to quite down a bit. May is also a favourite month for us. I had 3 trips in June and each one has been a weather disaster
  18. But is still one of our most successful managers. We are constantly finishing in the top four of major tournaments. We have just been through a transitional period. Its fair to say the men's team results haven't been great of late. But hey no one wins any silverware playing friendly. Be patient we have a good group of players.
  19. I'm sure I'm right but isn't that sign in richardsons corporate colours. Quick question to those that know. But will Richardson's still have to pay some form of business rates on this site even if its un occupied ?? It would be good to see the whole section of the bank at acle redeveloped. Maybe bridgecraft could purchase it and redevelope there site as well. Sadly there yards looks a little rundown.
  20. I'd forgotten all about the data base, I'd seen Craig many times sitting by the river bank in Horning doing his thing. It will be great seeing it updated etc, best of luck and we'll done.
  21. I had several bookings with Herbert Woods last year and received fantastic discounts via why wife's blue light card. On one occasion we were returning dazzling light on the friday morning and my wife and me decided to stay on for the weekend, whilst our friends returned home. We walked upto the booking office and booked prince of light for the Fri to Monday. We received the blue light, last minute and 2nd holiday discounts. I wonder if they could of done that if tied to an agent such as hoseasons and the commission that would of needed to be paid on our booking. Personally I prefer booking direct with the yard it just has a more personal feel.
  22. Excellent result, the country could with something positive to lift its spirit. The constant flow of doom and gloom that's pours out of our tvs lately. We'll done ladies..
  23. Who'd be a mod...well I was back in the day and I still wear Fred Perry polo shirts, love em ( have you seen how much they cost nowadays) old army saying if your willing to poke your head up over the trench, be prepared to get shot. Personally I don't always agree but have nothing but respect for those that are willing to do a thankless task..thanks. ps sorry if I cross the line at times 😉
  24. Oh definitely, my sister has just returned from the states and a huge warehouse fire you could probably find the vid on YouTube. We're talking millions. A train driver passing by the site whilst it was on fire has lodged a huge claim apparently. Initial losses have been agreed but this claim will rumble on for a few years.
