    My Day

Theses vaccine centers are so well organised now. Turned up to mine today there were literally hundreds of ppl waiting. Que kept moving at a steady pace paperwork completed whilst waiting. Everyone was being offered the flu jab as well. I didn't think you could have both at the same time but apparently you can, just not in the same arm. I found it very encouraging that most ppl were taking up the offer of the flu jab. And well done to all the volunteers who give up there time to help manage the crowds.

    My Day

Hi Ian, I already have the flu jab every year and haven't had a cold since I can't remember. I'm more concerned about mixing vaccines to be honest. I've had covid and yes I was unwell but nothing to bad. Kim worked all through the pandemic on a covid ward and has seen the worst covid can do. She's had it 3 times now, one time we didn't even realise she had it until she got tested at work. Guess she got so use to feeling unwell during the hight of the pandemic. I'm not anti vaccine at all I just feel there's some unanswered questions regarding mixing vaccine. But it's just my opinion. So I was glad I got offered Pfizer.
  3. On the subject of beer, we'll lager really. I'm not a fan of Madri but it's poping up everywhere now. Guess it must be cheap. I do miss a nice cold pint of fosters. Yes I know, I'm a simple man with simple tastes. The landlord of our local told me fosters is now one of the most expensive draught beers to buy in. Now who'd of thought that.

    My Day

I didn't really want a 4th covid jab. But today I'm getting mine ( wife's already had hers through work ) unfortunately it's a condition of travel on our up coming crusie and as I've past the 270 day mark since my last jab i don't have an option. Fortunately it's the Pfizer vaccine im having today, which is what my last 3 have been. I haven't suffered any adverse reactions so fingers crossed today will be the same.
  5. Spent many an hour behind the wheel of an Mk and MJ Bedford Vaughan. You are indeed correct ours were multi fuel use. I believe our squadron had some land rover's that were as well. But I'm not 100% on that as I rarely drove them. Towards the end of my time our new 6leg TM Bedfords were multi fuel use. What fantastic trucks they were. DOH !! THREAD DRIFT ALERT...LOL.
  6. I actually quite like the sound of that. I'm a fan of both...
  7. Lol...I won't be sparking up my Cuban Cigar lol...boom..
  8. I love a large portion of sprouts yum..don't think the wife shares my enthusiasm for said vegetable...
  9. Home alone this Christmas as wife has to work Christmas and Boxing day. Compromise with her boss as she's allowed her 3weeks off in November. It's the kidds year for visiting inlaws etc. So we will see them all Christmas eve. Pure bliss as far as I'm concerned, microwave curry few bottles of ice cold beer and any film I want to watch on TV. Going footie boxing day so all sorted. I may even sit around in my dressing gown all day Christmas day. Be no waste or left overs in my house lol..
  10. Good choice, we had Dazzling light last year, slightly newer. But had loads of space and great veiws from up top.
  11. I think we need to be careful here, I personally don't accept woods sent a craft out with the hand rails missing. In fact in all my years hiring I never witnessed anything like that. I've seen Plenty of boats with hand rails bent squashed etc but never missing. That would be major H&S own goal in my opinion. Like Vaughan has tried to indicate, maybe the canopy was down that's a large chunk of the superstructure missing and could possibly give the impression of no hand rails. More importantly though I believe the ranger would of picked up on the missing rails and been straight on to herbert woods.
  12. By all means, I would never make them public..
  13. I wouldn't of accepted it, I would of refused to take it out of the yard. That's just not on and I struggle to believe a yard would of presented a boat in that condition. Basic safety equipment on a boat.
  14. I'd agree with you on that Mouldy. I guess the latest design of a comparable centre cockpit craft would be the RC45. We found the centre cabin on broadsman very cramped and really only suited for children. The galley was not great either to be honest. Still a fantastic boat but it has its drawbacks. The old CC boats still prove very popular today and I would imagine it would be worth putting together some kind of refit program for the fleet. No doubt a considerable investment but I'm sure they'd recoup that investment in time. Like has been said already some are looking pretty grim and they've look like that for a while now.
  15. Great holiday tale as always Simon thanks, shame about the heating, not sure if it's just me, but I always find Ranworth one of the coldest places on the northern broads to moor especially if its windy. I can imagine how hard the heater would have to work to heat that boat. If gracious, silent or whisper emblem are in the yard this morning, take a sneaky look onboard. I think you'd be pleasantly surprised how they've improved the interior fit outs over the years.
  16. Think Neil has summed that up perfectly to be honest. Personally I wouldn't class that as an upgrade in quality, maybe in internal space but that would be it. Sorry if that's sounds negative but just an honest opinion. I've hired both designs in the past.
  17. She's not going anywhere anytime soon. Not sure if the canopy has been damaged but it's been left open all week. That said a little more water isn't going to hurt. I think the build shed is full at the moment. Not sure if they've launched the new boat yet. I saw them putting another boat in there last week. So no room in there I would imagine.
  18. I always moor in woods yard when visiting potter by boat. I don't think I've ever seen a privately owned boat moored on A section overnight. You see the odd one popping in for pump outs, water. So not very common at all. 20 quid a night with the facilities they offer seems reasonable now days unfortunately. But no one is forced to accept their fees.
  19. And just prey the Russian don't mistake said long hose as a gas pipeline..doh...
  20. There is some footage on YouTube of Nigel royall bringing his 42ft alpha bath tub ( forgotten its name now ) through wroxham at a he'll of a speed. Admittedly in daylight. How he never bump that was beyond me. He did admit to us he expected to have to replace the upper hand rails. No a scratch on it apparently. All in a days work I guess.
  21. I'm not sure which boat out of the two it is, but the aft cockpit canopy seems huge. Its very high. Must be awful to helm in strong winds being such a small boat. I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple more of the little compact cruisers come along 😉 there incredibly popular.
  22. We visited The Bridge Inn at acle back in May i hadn't been in there for over 30 years. I have to say we really enjoyed our visit and its now on our must visit list.
  23. I've often thought about hiring there cottage that's on the main river front. I think I would get bored though ive absolutelyno interest in fishing. They do look nice and seem very popular.
  24. I loved the broadsman there a great boat, but ours was definitely not a platinum boat, we had number 5 in the class and she definitely needs some tlc. The rear screen on the canopy needs at least repairing replacement would be better, the demist system for the front screen didn't work..upholstery faded and looked tatty. The flooring was bubbling up in the galley and rear loo seat had been broken and bodged up. All things you would not expect to find on a top of the range boat.
  25. Not a boat, but herbert woods are withdrawing there largest hire cottage this winter. Marsh veiw situated on the yard is no longer available to hire. No idea if it's going up for sale or has been sold.
