  1. Oh oh col its starting to rain come and fetch us from the train if you dont we'll surely get wet And be the grumpiest girls you've ever met But I know that you surely will 'cos You know it's a long way down that hill and one more thing you need not fear we'll remember to buy you a big frothy beer You'll send us off with a big cheery smile as we zig-zag off for the first mile but after a week we'll bring her back our zig-zag becoming a deliberate tack! We'll leave her clean, just ***** and span As a man knows only a woman can Then once again it's back up the hill Then back to Norwich past many a mill But as we leave, shedding a sad lonely tear You know we'll be back again to see you next year Morale So if you want a really nice boat Ask these girls for whom they would vote!!!
  2. Baz - I've got a Kodak Instamatic - Is that any good??
  3. Probably a wise choise, wind down here (felixstowe) has been gently stiffening all morning.... Alton water and wind surfing here we come... Good luck with the trip out tomorrow guys
  4. I have to say that I have watched the weather closely over the past week and into next week - I cant remember a time when the weather has been so consistently pants for a very long time - what happened to the 'hottest summer on records' that everyone was romouring a couple of months ago!!!
  5. We will definitely be around for next weekend after making a thorough nuisance of ourselves on the broads all week. So far I think we have been banned from just about every bar that has moorings. Definitely need to venture out of that lock before long. Or bridge.
  6. Got those new windscreen wiper motors fitted then phil. Be good to see you out and about again. When does it go back in
  7. There's a helecopter in the RNSYC
  8. Im liking the style and content Ian - keep it up Im sitting here waiting with anticipation! Wish we had been running with you
  9. Yep Ive been keeping a keen eye - looking horrendous for monday, however had my eye on wednesdayish onwards more likely friday back - thursday looks choppy- typical - my last 14 straight days off and the long range forecast is looking pants too!! windguru looks like custers last stand for monday !!! However.. monday looks great for wind surfing!!!
  10. Well it looks as if we are going to be loitering around the Broads over the next few days and will be popping to sea at some point... anyone wanting to travel down to the Ipswich area and possibly Essex are welcome to join us!!!
  11. Ah I wasn't sure if it was 'shagloads' in Ians case, 'more than I would have liked' in Waynes case, 'Just a bit' Adam is bound to reply regarding his trip, and 91.34 gallons for 181.3 miles run is what I would guess from Johnathons 'command centre' bridge that even the Royal Navy would be envious of!!!! On a personal note Phil, how's your leg shaping up??
  12. Bloomin heck Grant you have just gone and hinted at the 'R' word - we are doomed now!!!!!! Blue hulled boats the wrong side of Mutford David.... but... but... you don't have a Broom do you!!!???
  13. Well I'm off work from tomorrow - yay - and my hol runs until the bank hol weekend - tanks are full and so is the fridge - Anyone got any plans?? Oh and found the ideal ball for 'rib footie' its an ab-ball - you know one of those big inflatable things!!!!!
  14. Bet you were doing everything you could to make the 'montgomery' go bang as you passed!!!! Looks like a fab trip - any possibility of fuel useage breakdowns for future reference and general info on refuelling / prices / comparisons?
  15. Some excellent photos there Adam, although I notice that with you sitting in the back of the rib it seems to plane alot easier... Think you may have snuck off to that Indian without us a few too many times!!! Looks like blingette did a great job of avoiding the Maersk Navy in Felixstowe!!
  16. Sounds like a great benelux adventure - Ian if you'd like a cruising companion next year then just shout...I used to travel the canals from Imuijden to Amsterdam regularly and would like to def do that again one day too!!!
  17. OK so apart from going to see the queen, Shooting tower bridge, doing the thames barrier at speed, living it up in St Kats Dock, what have the romans ever done for us?????? Just to say it looks like you are all having a fab time! By the way Rod - big grins for the Harwich Haven post!!!! And just to say that the 'erratic navigation' report will be next week when we are out and about! Phil - After the past couple of months Binky is probably due for that renaming ceremony! lol
  18. Just a quick note of reference, there is a fairly long concrete causeway that runs out from the quay, best to arrive on a rising tide and carry the dinghy up the causeway and tie it on to the railings at the top.. otherwise you may be swimming out to it!!!!!!!
  19. OK we've given you the headstart you needed and now with oue 80 knot wonderboat we will see if we can catch you up..... I wish!!! Why couldnt it be the week after next - we will be doing it all by ourselves.... Ian you will have to tell me all of the petrol places you've found on route! Have a fab trip guys
  20. Sounds fun - where have you made it too... Ipswich... really good moorings there and the last anchor is a great place too... People are often worried about ips/felixstowe/harwich becuase it is busy, but it is like crossing a country lane rather than a motorway and in good vis isnt a problem. Ref fuel, actually I have always find I use more fuel on trips such as yours purely because I never stick to my 'best economy' speed.... Have a great onward trip and look forward to hearing where Lyds makes you go next!!!!!
  21. Just check that your set is on int and not 'US' as this will cause exactly this problem... apart from that a cable termination at the end of the antenna would be my next move... splice it on!!!!!
  22. That post should have read DAN is an expert. But. Predictably. Bloomin iPhone corrected it AGAIN
