  1. The star means you have previously replied to that topic.. If you haven't you will see a dot. Clicking the time (clock icon) also takes you to the last comment. (It's a bit easier to click too).
  2. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3303505/Crew-Vulcan-bomber-investigated-footage-plane-performing-illegal-barrel-roll-final-weeks-air.html#comments Well done to them.. glad they gave her a good final few flights.
  3. Hi Andy, Can't say I disagree as it's certainly a bit annoying for us all. As DF mentioned you may want to create your own new content button and set us as the default that will workaround the hiccup here. Scroll back to the first page on this thread for screenshots if you need help. Or drop me a message for help.
  4. to the forum firstly! I can't overly help with this style of boat as I've not seen them. The BSC is a pain and there's lots to it. Sadly having a petrol engine too it will be alot stricter. You may want to refer to the online manual and study closely (http://www.boatsafetyscheme.org/media/180428/bss%20guide%202005%20complete%20web.pdf) The inspector is obviously right and needs to see the fuel lines, they need to be marine graded to ISO 7840 (For diesel not sure on petrol) and need to be marked to show this. If it's a professional install these hoses should be short runs to and from the fuel tank and to the engine. The main run should be copper so he shouldn't really need to see the full run. Unless it's not copper, so therefore he should just need access to the engine bay and wherever the fuel tank is. Fitting a waste tank is sadly going to be a big job and will likely set you back a full grand perhaps another You need space for a tank which is normally easier said than done. You can do it yourself though but you will obviously be running hoses etc everywhere so it may not be easy. You may want to talk to and look at Lee san - www.leesan.com this company are the authority in pump out systems. A quick fix is to get either a bucket or a portapotti type loo which you can grab in caravan shops/online etc. With regards to winterising hopefully there's a list somewhere which someone can provide but it's mainly a fact of draining your fresh water system (taps etc), Adding 50/50 antifreeze (refer to engine manual) to header tank/heat exchanger, removing water from the raw water system. Again probably wise to talk to a boatyard (or other members) for further advise regarding this boat/engine.. it's certainly worth doing sooner rather than later though. Hope this helps a little and hopefully other more knowledgeable members will be along shortly!
  5. Empathising your point clearly
  6. Lol... being in IT I very rarely receive praise..(we are the forgotten soldiers lol) So no Gracie ignore them keep it coming lol (No glad it's helping people...)
  7. Hi strowager. Just so I understand this. A semi planning hull needs more power than a displacement hull because power is wasted because it tries to rise up? And it tries to rise up even at displacement speeds? I would have thought at displacement speeds it's acting as a displacement hull (but I've not read too much into this). Interesting though. Steve certainly sounds like lady please needs the 3 cylinder one :(
  8. Lol Iain.. Aren't you a border town scot? I've stood outiside at bloody hogmany at -15dc one year.. that was erm "fun"!
  9. Good to see another Robin, Shame it's the last.. although I think I need to call you abit of a chicken.. I was expecting some winter blogs Certainly keep them going we all need them!
  10. Keith I called it everyone to make it clearer that people are using this (other than the system one). You can make your own though using the "Customise this stream".
  11. Not sure what you mean there John, If you do this it should replace your new content button with this.. I think on the tablets (and phones) this button looks like a newspaper and is beside the magnifying glass.. (top right). Edit: Pic attached
  12. Hi Ray, You may want to refresh it.. (Sorry I'm not a apple (fan) expert (or whatever apple calls them ) I think this feature only happened after a bug release last night. I just check and it appears to work on all formats so try to refresh the page. Fingers crossed!
  13. Those of you that want to see the "New content" button (top right) to contain what it used to show which included; New posts and post I've already seen, here's how you do it: 1, Log in 2, Click: http://www.thenorfolkbroads.net/forum/discover/8/ 3, Click the greyed out tick beside "Everything" That will now (hopefully) stick. (Should work on a mobile/tablet device too (See below though) ).
  14. Thanks Mark.... This seems to be a bug and will hopefully be fixed soon.
  15. Sorry I've no dealings with them though.. I wouldn't put a volvo in though (seriously expensive) ;).. Vetus or Beta for me (Or Chinese mpower engine).
  16. Sadly yes Neil. The calenders are due in this week so yes set in paper Not quite sure how it made to the calendar though and not on this thread.. Magic I guess
  17. Good point Mark. I must admit I have put valuables in my case before so certainly not now. I guess the chances of security needing to open it though is pretty low to, so I would rather have it secure and or clearly know when it's been tampered with.
  18. What strap do you use John? are you sure they can't be undone? I bet nothing is bloody safe these days... Must admit I'm clearly very naive as it didn't know any of this
  19. Hi Monica, I think by the time it's on youtube it's highly likely that its common knowledge among these low lifes. Hence use the knowledge now to your advantage.
  20. A couple of erm interesting videos have shown on my facebook.. Pretty alarming. If you fly I think you need to be aware. So, here's how to open a zipped suitcase with a pen! And here's one how to access the combination lock!! Which most non zipped cases have.. Joys of the bloody internet ey. Obviously this information is in the public domain so I'm just sharing what's public already. Hopefully the more awareness of this, then manufacturers can get their act together and the improve design. Don't forget if you are flying you are responsible for what's in your bag. (At least we don't need to worry about losing those padlock keys anymore...!)
  21. John, We have the autumn meet as 24-25th september on the calendars.
  22. They do use it to remove the orange waterline stain and apparently it's they only thing that removes it. Although the medway here is very muddy and suffers from serious (and strange) fouling. Put we've never used as such and now hearing about problems with bloodstream and kidneys etc it's not something I will be using. Interesting topic though
  23. I'd say Marthams.. without a doubt.. proper boat.. but you may be a tad cold in March.. as suggested their houseboats maybe a better idea. Marthams ferry up the road do fishing boats too I believe.
