  1. Geez I have such a twisted memory.. It's been years since I was there but it clearly stuck in lol...
  2. No, Grace ... Just no Although I'm hoping to rip out Lady p's in the winter if Steve and Debs let me!
  3. Lol is that Rhodes by any chance?? I think we've actually been on that if so.
  4. Andy from me. I'm sure your 5 weeks will quickly fly by and you will be on the broads before you know it!! I'm looking forward to hearing your holiday tale
  5. Sorry Guys, Although you know I'm very supportive of charges and we should pay for new features etc. I'm putting talking in perspective here, this is electric and shouldn't be confused with drinks etc. I also understand that it's illegal to charge more than it costs... and I'm comparing against my electric bill for my berth here in kent (which isn't cheap!). Last MONTH I paid £18.27 for my electric bill.. £9 of that was a supply charge so I used 70 units at 0.12p (So £8.40 before VAT).. So in comparison to this I believe £1 a stay is therefore expensive as I have to pay that (if I understand this system) I know this means that there maybe the odd chance someone doesn't use all of theirs so I could get some free juice, although that's a bit selfish. Although one could argue the amount charged can include the supply fee (although I understand it should be separated and as far as I know ) and we should be paying our way blah blah blah, I do still agree with Robin that for me (as someone who has hardly any 240v systems on board so would only plug in to charge a laptop or something so wouldn't use much) it's expensive and therefore I can't really use it.. Although I admit I would rather the BA spending money on something else like a public mooring at Wroxham Actually I've just googled and noticed that these are aimed at Recharging electric boats so that may explain why it's aimed like this as I guess a quids worth of juice is enough to do a decent charge and you shouldn't have any left therefore in comparison to fuel is not too bad.
  6. I must admit I'm a bit surprised how these require the full £1 as that surely makes it very expensive if you don't use all the power. Although I've not used these so can't overly comment.. But without knowing these, I would expect it like you say Robin that you "pay as you go" perhaps it was cheaper (and easier) to implement etc.
  7. Hi All, Ok we think we've got this all set now.. So third time lucky!! Please upload your pictures here: calendarcompetition.thenorfolkbroads.net Sorry, If you have submitted pictures before can you please resubmit .
  8. Frank you should have gone along with it but act stupid.. it really annoys them.. and then say you work in law enforcement and have tracked the number down.. and the police will be at their door shortly.. you can sense the panic as the phone is thrown down lol
  9. Good news you are feeling better Iain.. Still not good you aren't all fixed up though.. Although now you can drive I think a trip down to te broads and the broads air would help Let's hope Clives (team) have managed to move the extinguisher.
  10. That's it Steve, you can get away with one of the side lines if it's calm and you don't have four lines (and on LadyP as she's light and compact ) .. Personally I think it's good seamanship to do as it stops the boat moving about on the berth. We always use spring lines
  11. Try this Steve.. you dont need a centre cleat and can get away with three lines:
  12. P.s I've Kinda liked that comment... huge shame about the leaks guys and shame you cut it so short. Although we will catch you this weekend.. maybe go out for a quick spin and check on the smoke if you like
  13. Two?? One lol Hopefully after 2 weeks of ale trailing though I'll be back into it lol
  14. Looks a nice pub John.. we could try and take a look.. Important question do they do Woodfords though?? Did you call to ask about the mooring or just landed?
  15. I'd say WRC they wouldn't notice and it's a nice location for a 2 or 3 days cruise.
  16. We went for a variety of rope lengths, the bow lines are a few meters longer than the boat.. Aft lines are only 5 meters though but we have one long line at about 15 meters I think for use as a spring/Spin the boat around line etc. Most of the river depths we have seen (although only down south) have been about 15 feet. If you intend using it as an emergency brake on the rivers I'd probably go to about 20 feet just in case. I guess most of the hire fleet is rather on the shorter side though.
  17. That will be fine.. Just upload the picture from your camera's memory card without reducing it etc
  18. Do it yourself Stuart... If you have the pattern it's not too bad http://www.hawkehouse.co.uk/ - materials and parts
  19. Sorry Guys, the validation doesn't quite seem to be there so I need to look again.. Please don't post any pictures for the time being.
  20. Ok Guys, I think it's working. Please still try and upload the largest quality image you have. So direct from your mobile phone or camera. I'm not sure what it will do on a tablet so perhaps try on a computer. Credit to Peter (JennyMorgan) for trying this last year. Fingers crossed this works this year Upload your images here: Back Soon I need to do the image gallery so we can see what's been uploaded and a voting section but for now just get uploading! Closing date: TBC.
  21. Jean to the forum from me too Looking forward to your tale
  22. Hi Dave, I see no reason why you can't resubmit ones from last year although you would need to upload them using the submission page (The submission page will check that they are a high enough quality for the printers I coded the submission page yesterday but annoyingly when I uploaded it wont connect to the database, I've emailed the hosting company and hopefully they will soon click a button and it will all be working soon. I'll put a post up as soon as it's there
