Just heard on the local radio news that the Vulcan will be making its last ever flight at the Clacton on Sea air show next month. Over the years that and the red arrows have seemed permanent fixtures. Charlie

I have to say that there does seem to be an awful lot more speeding boats than years ago, both private and hire. I too prefer poodle about, but unless a few examples are made both to hire and private boats alike I feel it will just get worse. Charlie

Alan as alexandlorna said why would you possibly want to make Great Yarmouth with bridge clearances approaching or at the minimum clearance for that tide? Or are you after trying to make the news?

I would still be inclined to use the EBB tide to help me on the way from Oulton Broad to Great Yarmouth if thats the way I was going!

In the early 80's or maybe late 70's it was hard to get moored there, as it was kid friendly and kept both parents and kids alike entertained in the evenings. It has to be that since those days it has been neglected, and each new management team have thought it will come back to what it was. Well it wont without hard work, imaginative marketing and serious updating. But it could do in the right hands. It is one of very few places on the broads that has that amount of moorings. But alas looks like it is lost to the broads now. Charlie
