  1. Forgot to say Polly we may have a dog with us also not sure what type or breed but we had to put our 14 year old bonny down due to cancer so we are currently searching for a small type dog to adopt. Clive,
  2. Clive DUNGRAFTIN can you put me and Kathy down for sat / sun
  3. Dave my stern tube is made of galvanised steel and so where the stuffing box screws on it is threaded so when they made it they machined the threads on the end so removing the galvanise which over the years has rusted away I did repair it with plastic steel a couple of years back but it now is at the point that it has got to be changed.
  4. Dave do they supply stern tubes or just material thanks Clive
  5. Would any one know where I might get a stern tube from for my Hampton Safari I have tried May craft but no joy there or if any member may have any information as regards manufacturers or possibly where I might get the relevant stainless or bronze material from thanks Clive.

    Anniversary

As of today the 19 Th. me and Kathleen have been married for 50 years I don't know how she has put up with me all these years but thankfully she loves boats and the broads as much as I do even though each trip out revolves round Latham's and Roy's.

    Speed cameras

As stated the cameras are average speed from Sutton bridge to Kings Lynn its usually that congested with traffic you can not do above 40 any way even on a good day.
  9. Not quite the broads but on the way down if your like me and travel to The broads on the A17 beware as I have just seen it on face book that the A17 now has speed cameras all the way from the A1 to Kings Lynn they apparently appeared over night I will be travelling it next month and will take note where they are and report back unless some one else does it. Clive.
  10. Looking for a rear cover for a mark 2 Hampton Safari
  11. I use the centre pop up cleat to moor as I have made my own device consisting of a length of strong rope with a hook at one end to fit the cleat and the other end I fitted a strong ring covered in plastic so that as we come along side we just drop the ring over the post and the boat settles close in depending which way the tide is running you can step for or aft ashore then tie on the bow and stern ropes at your leisure it can be reversed for rings we also tie both our stern ropes on to hold us in but in really strong winds we put two long ropes one running from the forward cleat to the stern mooring post and one from the stern cleat running forward these Are springs to stop the boat jumping about in strong winds.
  12. Makes me glad I use the B1145 from kings Lynn as its 90% quieter and shorter mileage to Stalham and got some great chippys and tea rooms for stopping at including a farm shop and tea room.
  13. Two of Fineways day boats turned up at Stalham on Monday what's happening with them Clive, also as there was film crews all over the yard are we having a new promotional film if so I would love to add it to my collection.

  16. David the computer has Microsoft player on it but don't work on these DvD's as I have some that I had profecianaly transferred took in 8 mm film all about the broads.
  17. I have just purchased a computer on windows 8.1 and when I put a DVD in the built in player it goes onto the puta but only shows as video-RM and underneath it also lists video-TS but when I click on them to open they will not open and play I might add the video is one that I transferred from video to dvd using a separate machine designed for the job what I am wanting is to upload it so I can send it to you tube to be able to post it on a site locally to me .I am more used to xp where it did it automatically if any one can help could you explain it in simple terms due to being a silver surfer thanks all Clive.
  18. As a Carling drinker the last time I was in I was charged £3.95 a pint so from there on it became a case of hello Tesco.
  19. My Hampton has swade type lining on all walls in the cockpit area plus carpet type material on the rest plus tile in galley and toilet areas and has a full new dashboard along with 3 separate forms of heating and is fully insulated including a wrapped fuel tank and also full LED lighting along with many more features so I am happy with what I have got but I also have one or two more features to look at so as to improve comfort.
  20. Hi Pauline and welcome from us you will remember us we moved from the side of you to the other side to be nearer the door with our Hampton safari DUNGRAFTIN this move was for Kathy to make it easier for her walking to the boat all the best Clive & Kathy
