  1. It is a bit more complicated than your popular tabloid's explanation. In recent years there has been a massive shift from ammonium nitrate to urea in agriculture. This has had the effect of reducing the amount of CO2 that is available for resale as less and less is classed as by-product as it is retained within the industry.
  2. Paul Raymond had FU2 but gave it to Fiona Richmond for her E Type When I lived in Chorleywood (Loudwater) in the 60s Jimmy Tarbuck had a 280SL with COM1C. That was when he was on his climb, he didn't stay there too long. I think Paul Daniels had MAG1C
  3. Edward Seago, is in the top of my top ten Artists. A man not with out controversy, destroying half his work before death and the experts still can not agree as to his style impressionist or post-impressionist. He was very firmly a favourite of the Royal Family and the Queen sits behind his most beautiful of silver sculptures when she rides in her official cars "St George slaying the dragon" by Seago is removable and can be transfered from car to car replacing the manufacturers mascots. It is only used when her Majesty is travelling within the vehicle.
  4. The pipe is called a "Hawse Pipe" what you want on that bow is a "Bow Roller" it will make the job much easier. Best if fitted above the rollee with a drop nose pin to act as a keep.
  5. I also went aboard Jacinda, Marthams new build river cruiser. I was so taken that I forgot to take photos. It is one beautiful Broads yacht.
  6. Lovely event in a beautiful setting. A lot of hard work must have gone into it's planning and execution. I think the fact that England had a game in the middle of the day has probably not helped the attendance figures. Still I enjoyed it very much and got to helm a Rebel at Hunters. Never sailed a Rebel before, what a beautiful handling boat. So glad that I went.
  7. Beautiful day for it, I hope it is a roaring success. It would be fantastic to see a lot more sails over the marshes in years to come.
  8. Don't do Facebook....... and I never will......
  9. Anybody on the Southern Rivers who can get a Photo? Latest said she is now moving down river seawards of Brundall.
  10. The BBC 2006 documentary on the above is being aired at 20.00 Sunday 24th on BBC 4. I remember it as a sad but extremely well made and informative program. This year it will be 37 years since that worst of Christmas news broke. Many of todays boating fraternity were perhaps not born and if they have not done so before, I would urge them to watch this time around.
  11. There are a lot of products listed on Ebay that are shipped direct from China. I have bought such goods and the Customs declaration has been to say the least stretching the truth. I seem to remember a vibration hour metre for my lawn mower was a "present"
  12. Could a mod please make the"o" in CO a capital in the heading please.
  13. If you have one that looks like this made in China and I would think Amazon ans Ebay are not the only outlets, best change it.
  14. Judith and I were building our seawych mostly in swimming clothes. My goodness it was a good job we were young and could work fast as the resin was going off in seconds.
  15. Manuel " I know nothing "
  16. Ok you win what are they? Sounds like a Tomato or runner bean!
  17. Too far for PC Tedder to cycle from Horning. Anyway his veg patch would take priority at this time of year.
  18. Thanks, could have been very nasty.
  19. Does anyone know anymore about one of the BA's barges being set adrift on the Lower Bure. Even unloaded the displacement of such a craft could cause a very serious incident. Sounds like they need a night-watch when working in that vicinity!
  20. May I wish you a speedy recovery. I have to say that a lesson learned many years ago was:- Some jobs are a step too far and the best solution is to throw money at the problem, sit back, and let a professional have the agro.
  21. I like the first two. It will make the place look a bit more up market. Whatever people say Acle Bridge is still many visitors first view of The Broads coming off the A47. It will provide an excellent stop when too early for your boat or accommodation. The BA should be applauded for taking on what could have been a real eyesore.
  22. Is this because you are bolting them together and you want them all to remain stable? If you could describe the application that you intend doing with them.
