Iain is correct
it was the The Horseshoes but many years ago it was incorporated into the Kings Head originally for functions then closed and boarded up

Let's hope the Broadshaven as a permanent manager and staff and becomes again a focal point for the bridge area
I have used the Falgate many times and hope that again it sees better times
Ray
Hi Labrador
Hope you are right but England Cricket teams do have the ability to mess things up
We should win but we do need those three wickets quickly I would not want to see England chasing a 150 plus total
Ray
Hi Barry
Thank you for photo of Rippling Foam she must have been nearly new at that time I believe she was built late forties.
It is good to see some of the Star class surviving and in such good shape.
Also information re Janca
Thanks again
Ray
Like Janet Anne looking for Newsons Emerald
does anyone know if any of Powles Foam or Star class boats are still around I have not seen any for many years
There use to be Well kept Star class at the big house just before the Ferry Inn as you come out of Horning but I think that as now gone
Ray
It seems we all have fond memories of the early craft we hired
the original Broom and Porter and Haylett craft where great
we hired from both many times then Summercraft always liked Gainsborough Girl hired her a few times
recent years it has been Silverline and Swancraft to have maximum time down south
Ray
Like many of you on the forum I have hired craft on the Broads for many years but my favourite as always been the the first boat we hired Rippling Foam from Jack Powles the holiday on her resulted in my love of the Broads which as never dwindled always feel happy when on the broads
Ray
I agree with the majority Potter Heigham is a nice stop but it really does need a well run good quality pub selling good beer and food.
if that happened other businesses would benefit because there would be a focal point.
Like many have said years ago Lathams was just that but not now
Improvements have been made by HW on there site but that is only really a draw for boat hire which again would benefit if the Broadshaven was open and providing that focal point
Ray
Hi Lincan
Like you we use to stop there it was easier
but I think like you say it would cost a fortune
to upgrade now
there is a good bus service and am sure if open taxis would also be avaliable but I do not think it will happen
Ray
Fair point Andy
I would certainly be disappointed if had booked off web site and what I got was not to that standard
a few words under the pictures would solve the problem and anyone booking could then check what the differances are
Ray
I agree with you Iain
Keys would be a better site but would need big money spent to sort it out dredging as you say plus everything else to make it work
Ray
Hi Vet Chugger
your crossing is very similar to ours except we crossed from Yarmouth
the boat was Bell Boats old Auqubell also a wooden hull
certainly an interesting crossing
Ray
Hi Geoff
Yes like many years ago had a problem read the tides wrong and had a relay rough crossing high water and strong South westerly
lost all deck gear and a few cups as well
This was nearly 40 years ago and always treated Breydon with great respect since
