  1. I'm in Horning this weekend! I imagine the traffic was bad! If you are on O2 or associated phone networks it's not working Liz
  2. The person that did the film is a professional. Last year's was good, this year's is even better. There is video footage of Ladybird shooting Potter! The mast came down quite fast!
  3. The official video of the race!!! Enjoy
  4. Also winner of the first 3RRs
  5. Today I attended a memorial service following a private funeral for Hugh. Hugh was an amazing sailor, character, and storyteller as well as wherry skipper and a winner of the Gold Cup at Wroxham A great man
  6. Oh and I nearly forgot when driving home to Hertfordshire I had to detour via Stevenage to feed daughter 2s cat!!! Oops
  7. The winner was Dingy Skipper no 6 Yare & Bure OD. I wished the skipper good luck on Friday having photographed one that day! I arrived back in the galley at 08:00 and the fun continued. Having helped prepare 60 breakfasts before 23:15 by 12:00 midday we eventually reached 260 the majority between 08:00 & 12:00! Note for next year have a decent tin opener to open the giant baked bean tins and when they hand out the 'raffle tickets' please tell the participants not to hand out individually to the crew - keep the strip intake ☹️
  8. First 3 boats hopefully in the right order?
  9. It is a mammoth operation involving so many volunteers. There is a family team the 'Fields' who man the radios and computers all day and night and morning. They sort out the radios Then there is the Race Officer, the race committee who plan it all, buy all the merchandise etc. Guard ships and their crews etc etc. Anyone on FB there are at least two dedicated groups with loads of pictures and videos. Search There Rivers Race! I should be asleep but need to wind down after the first rather busy shift. Several of the big boats came in with several crew coming in for breakfast this year. Last year they went to the pub and came back in the morning!!!
  10. First boat home a Thames Rater was at 19:57 followed closely by a Punt then cruiser India! 60 breakfasts served by 23:15 when I left. Back at 8 to start all over again!!!!
  11. Wayfarers and White boats going through Horning. Start 2 & 3 Most of my photos were taken on a real camera so can't sort them until I am home
  12. You can always watch on the various webcams set up around the course. Not quite as windy as originally forecast! I'll be in the galley for a shift this evening and then in the morning. Potential for over 400 breakfasts!
  13. It's horrible in Hertfordshire. Saw weekend photos from Thurne and despite looking sunny nearly everyone was wearing warm clothing ☹️
  14. I never did get around to taking off the ply wood in the forward cabin, especially the cupboard fronts - some beautiful coach work is hidden up The starboard bunk used to be low down but I retained the higher bunk as the space proved to be a good storage area
  15. Looking smart and different anti-foul colour under water!
  16. Swallowtails are attracted to pink flowers, such as campion and the pink valerians - they have been seen nectaring on flowers placed on the gravestones. Yes you may well have met my brother - he likes to see 'the first ones of any butterfly species' - I look and record butterflies but not with the same obsession! I would also agree that that 'boat' would not be my choice of boat and the owner used to own a rather nice Broom woodie that appears on this forum quite regularly I believe! If you want to see Swallowtails, stop at How Hill or wander over to the Weavers Way around Hickling Broad - walk to Potter Heigham church and pick up the Weavers Way across the fields
  17. The photo of the 'strange looking' boat was as it passed my brother's house. Our boats are just visible. I know a bit about that boat but shan't discuss on the forum. If the sun shines go up to the church and watch the Swallowtails come up from the marshes to nectar on pink flowers. You might encounter my brother as he goes up to the church to record them!

    My Day

Daughter 3 has a 3 year work visa and leaves for New Zealand Monday week. Today was the last chance 4 of 5 of us could meet! I don't normally do selfies so despite this being my phone I didn't take it! Next Monday is going to be seriously hard!
  19. I would consult the local authority! They might think they are in the middle of nowhere but sound travels!
  20. If memory serves me right the cooker was fitted in 2009?
  21. I doubt it's no now May just no mow!
  22. I see the BA have posted on FB to say the weed cutter is now up there clearing the channel
  23. At least one was sailing at Acle Regatta this weekend
  24. A Sabrina then! At least one at Acle Regatta this weekend
