  1. Out with the dog today .... no woolly hat or gloves!! Took mine off as well.
  2. I feel that the essence of this statement is somewhat high handed and attempts to belittle the mental capacity of some members here. However I quite enjoy reading the ping pong exchanges between Paladine, strowager and others regarding the BNP (which I always thought stood for the British National Party) ...... just not on every thread that appears here. I'm sorry if that suggests that I don't understand the importance of the debate to some, I do, it's just that I really don't care what we call the Broads.
  3. Hi LondonRascal, you clearly love the written word and you should be comended for that, however for me, when surfing the web, pics catch my eye and then I look for brief clear text to confirm the content. I rarely read lengthy prose on-line unless i am researching a topic.
  4. I suspect that the same members will raise the same issue regarding National Park status whenever the words National and Park appear in the same posting regardless of the topic being discussed. The topic re: National Park has been discussed many times so it is a shame that the same objections/posts are raised when discussing an item that is very useful to all. Perhaps we should have a thread permanantly available entitled "National Park or not National Park .... that is the question" or "A National Park by any other name would smell as sweet"?
  5. A most useful and informative guide. Not just for the holidaymaker but us locals also when looking for inspiration for eating holes in the National Park. Well done for takling the trouble to put this guide together.
  6. Do people read now? Or Would they prefer pics and a plan?
  7. Have I misread the article? It seems to me they are saying treated water from sources containing the toxic algea might be contaminated as those particular toxins arn't always checked for. I hope I have misread it as I would not want to add to the plastic waste mountain through drinking bottled water.
  8. An interesting question ...... it would certainly save time, money & effort to do just the first foot around the waterline. I await responce from those that know on this one.
  9. Never trust a nation that has words without vowels ....... what would happen to Countdown Consonant ....... consonant ........ conso .... con plysw
  10. When I was a lad living in Beccles "last orders" in Suffolk was 10:30 & 11:00 in Norfolk. A quick dash across the bridge to Geldeston seemed in order!!
  11. Thanks all for the warm welcome. I must say the new forum software is very good, much better than the old one. Lot's of nice features, I particularly like the like button. Unfortunately I can't register that I like the like button as there is no like button to press to say I like the like button.
  12. Hi 650xs .... can I call you XS? Very deep and shark invested!! Swimming with the Piranas here will be most welcome.
  13. I think you should be able to have items printed at for example vistaprint etc & delivered to the buyer? Thus avoiding the hastle of post office etc. I think with items such as mugs & key rings etc the quality of the image is less important. Just an alternative to the donation button if that is not to your liking.
  14. With the wealth of imagery gathered here would it not be possible to sell mugs, table mats and other printed items featuring bygones Norfolk & Suffolk imagery? I realise there might be a copyright issue but I'm sure you would get a number of orders from broadland lovers. There are loads of places on-line that let you upload imagery for printing on these gift items. Be up front and add 100% mark up + p&p to your cost price.
  15. Hi All Just to say Hi to all my old mates as I am back after a long absence. I,ve been paddling in other ponds and thought i'd take another dip here. Happy boating to all (even the stinkies!) Lou
