  1. Perhaps someone needs to come up with an alternative (Broads applicable) term to 'builders bottom'. and
  2. What a shame that you missed out on Gaye's Staithe. One for next time? Although I must admit that Paddy's Lane is on our wish list! Waiting for the next instalment (no pressure!). Helen
  3. p.s. looking forward to the rest of your tale...
  4. Lovely photo Jean, also loved your sense of excitement at spotting the yellow post! I know what you mean, I get all in a do-dah every single time we travel to the Broads and drive over the Postwick Viaduct toward our destination. By the way, travelling under it for the first time a month ago was another first (and quite exciting). I loved the signs saying it had a restricted clearance! Helen
  5. Ooh...16oz Sirloin! Sounds really good, though beyond my appetite. I must admit your home cooked chicken and pesto etc sounded even better. (Perhaps we could have a food section on this forum?) Glad you got to How Hill, we loved the rhododendrons and azelias...you went one better than us though in spotting a swallowtail as we had visited the first week in May. We were a bit too early for butterflies. Sounds like you had a good time (apart from PH). Thanks for the write up...keeps us going until our next visit! Helen

I almost 'liked' Timbo's post, but though that might give a false impression. It certainly caused a major fit of LOL'ing though"!
  7. She has obviously inherited your sense of humour. Love it!
  8. What a sweetie pie she looks. Thanks for posting! Helen
  9. Of course you are angry, we all are.. We all feel especially for those young people. My own feeling is that we have to try to knit together and direct our anger toward those that really deserve it and not allow it to overspill to those who don't. Reading some of the news today it sounds like the people of Manchester have been trying to do that and that the community there has really pulled together. Together we are strong.
  10. Finny, from all our different reactions to today, know that our prayers, and good wishes for those who are not religious, are with your friends today. Our strength is in solidarity and love.
  11. Ooh, that's lovely...proper got the thread back where it should be.
  12. Loved the 'mast gate pin thingy'... That's my sort of language.
  13. Yep Arthur...I agree. Well out of hand! Helen
  14. What a shame. Hope you get there another time.
  15. Thanks for the pics and write up. How did you find The White Horse at Upton? We ate there last year and were very impressed with their Sunday Roast and beer. We weren't that taken with The Dog this year though we loved it last year. Mind you anywhere can have an off day, and as I've said before what suits one person doesn't necessarily suit the next person. Does anyone know whether it's changed hands since last year?
  16. In response to Timbo's post...I think I'm rapidly running out of 'likes' this evening.
  17. Look, this is just getting out of hand now! It's lovely that people are joining in but I'm having difficulty understanding some of it. LOL! Part of the trouble with Welsh is that there's differences in vocabulary between north and south, and anyway...I'm rusty! Helen
  18. I thought you'd be used to Timbo by now...
  19. Thanks for the write up Grendel. It's lovely to hear about the weekend from different people's perspectives. Helen
  20. Lol! Great write up. Looking forward to the next instalment! I must try to get to the Weyford Bridge Inn in September. By the way I tried to reply to this lunchtime from my work PC but it would let me click into the reply box to enter text. I thought that I would message you direct from the staff listing but it wouldn't let me do that either. Was there a problem earlier or is it just my work PC I wonder? Helen
  21. Yes, sorry...got a bit carried away...
  22. That's a bit strong! I love this forum because they accept anyone...even me! As I have found Norfolk folk to be. (Is there a collective noun for Norfolk people?). I tried Norfolkitis..but that sounded very wrong. A few too many bevvies this evening me thinks...
  23. Yeh...but taffio's are from down south and I'm from oop north! LOL
  24. Sorry...translation - 'Is there a place for a forum in Welsh here?' (And that was firmly tongue in cheek.)
  25. Oes na lle am forum Cymraeg yma? I guess that would be the equivalent of walking into a bar in Wales...
