While waiting to sort out official answers could a temporary solution be a bandana? Think along the lines of bank robbers in old western movies.
These will help restrict your breath reaching others while giving you a more direct oxygen supply from below the chin. They seem to be acceptable judging by the amount of people wearing them in media photos plus it is (slightly) better than nothing or getting a fine.

That's true Poppy, it was a widening of the discussion I believe, not any criticism of your post. Even a little thread drift sometimes has unintended consequences ๐บ

Absolutely! It's like being a responsible dog owner and seeing uncollected faeces or bags of the stuff.... literally give a dog a bad name.

The danger, as with most things, is throwing the baby out with the bath water. Since I moved to Norfolk I have come to know quite a few liveaboards and they are all immaculate and lived in by nice, decent people.
Any kind of regulation needs to concentrate on spoiling the environment rather than being a liveaboard per se I think.

A "wow" would be handy for the Broad Ambition - The Model thread. Other than there I never say wow ๐

Fred, you are the bravest man on the forum bar none. I think if you wear a disguise and assume a new identity abroad you may, just, get away with thatย

The poorest pensioners, those who receive Pension Credit will still qualify for a free licence.
The government used to fund free licences but passed responsibility to the BBC.
I'm not a fan of the BBC or the Government but it is easy to see how the BBC were made the 'fall guy' in this!

Having just reread this I should clarify that the extra outside seating is the outside sort of outside seating and not of course the inside sort of outside seating which is hard to find these days!

after reading all this wish I hadn't asked, was onlyย a rhetorical question, just curious as to why it's done this way.
It's the way of these things, no problem as it's all to the good when folks with different views can air them.
After all, there was no fisticuffs ๐๐

Sutton Staithe Hotel have added extra outside seating outside and are giving table service.
Ferry Inn at Stokesby are only serving outside but will serve food as takeaway if requested so you can eat on your boat if the weather isn't good for al fresco.

Seems fair and reasonable! So all the references to other place etc are just to circumvent the rules leaving the rest of us in the dark.

Ferry Inn, Stokesby are doing breakfasts. 8am to 11am, order in the shop and they do the rest.

Is there some reason why somebody just can't post here what is being said elsewhere? Veiled references and cloak and dagger hints get a bit tedious.
I've been a member just over three years now and every now and then there are references to other places and such like. I get that something must have happened once but there must be quite a few members now who, like me, haven't a clue and just wish people would speak up about what they know or if it really is some big secret don't mention it at all!
Thank you ๐

I think Andy has hit the nail on the head with this one! Like any purchase you choose a product (mooring) that suits you and if the price and/or conditions are acceptable to you then you make the purchase.
If the terms, conditions, price change then you find something else that suits you and move.
Owning a boat on the broads, as far as I know, it's a given that you pay for mooring by the size of your boat. Boatyard owners have a business to run, the fact that they do so in such a friendly and helpful way is a bonus... real value added!

The DC30 does look nice and I'm not even looking!

Just thinking out loud here but is it possible that some of the big fleets are not making all of their boats available? With the current covid restrictions it must be nigh on impossible to get them all out on their usual start days!
