  1. I have a sneaking feeling it won't work on my old TMD41's Neil... Give them clean fuel and air and 12v is totally irrelevent once started, how maring engines should be. I know of a boat where both engines went into limp mode halfway across the channel due to diesel bug, not because they couldn't get enough fuel but because the pressure dropped low enough for the engines to protect themselves, now I'd rather get into port safely with two knackered engines than get t boned by a container ship with two protected engines.
  2. When it's cold and I have no hookup I usually set the eberspacher running on an hour timer when getting the last beer (I can phone it to turn it on to timer), I have an outlet either side of the V berth and a couple of spare bits of ducting which hook on and run under the duvet, result is getting to a warm boat with a toasty aired bed, start with warm feet and you stay warm all night, I've never found it to be too big a drain on the batteries. When the timer runs out if I'm still in the pub (oops! It happens) I'll call it again but if onboard just let it shut off as it's all warm by then.
  3. Ok shoes, chocolate, hard hats.... How you doing Ian?
  4. Ok then, I have a seagoing boat,at 30' it is smaller than half the hire boats, it can fold down to 8'8" within minutes (actually less than a minute) ,I am perfectly capable of sticking to a speed limit (ok 3mph is tricky) am also capable of 22 knots, if you think you are going to govern my engines then you wont make it off from doing the job alive, it can do both very well, the broads is a tidal haven and always should be.
  5. I always assumed every one was assumed drunk till proven otherwise. I was once congratulated by a reedham quay warden on a cracking mooring but he was a bit horrified by the reply of "yeah, not bad for 5 pints". ..
  6. Na! It'll never catch on, except for a small band of eccentrics of course but no one you'd take seriously.
  7. I've noticed when I look at latest topics it shows stuff as read but when I open it lots of newer posts show up, refreshing makes no difference.
  8. I have a big IT fixing stick if you need it, or just give it a whack with my anchor as that seems to be in fashion right now.
  9. Could an electric car not have a huge array of solar panels on the roof that could be raised to provide propulsion when the wind is in the right direction? No, scrub that idea! I've seen what the wind propelled idiots get up to on the broads....
  10. As much as I've taken the wee all the best, when things get more serious the NHS do tend to pull out the stops and get moving very well.
  11. If you like pubs the best info at the moment is on covid systems, most riverside pubs are pretty good but there are a few to dodge, depends on your age and health. All the guides are pre covid so food/drink times and availability are not to be relied on as are services offered.
  12. Yes, good beer guide... What sort of info are you after?
  13. I have a wave line 2.7metre airdeck jobbie and very happy with it, got a good price from Norfolk marine a couple of years ago and they delivered it for free as their van goes to a marina local to me.
  14. Got any phone numbers? I want to get under ph bridge, they'll get my 8'8" under.
  15. And to think you were worried about covid! I reckon covid is worried it will catch you.
  16. He's a yorkshireman, they don't have Christmas lists....
  17. Pretty much the same here, we left 80p on the 32a socket at loddon.

    Rosy Lee's

When in loddon a rosy's brekkie is the law, no defence acceptable.

    Rosy Lee's

As long as you're in the staithe you have a good chance, I can't see them walking out to pyes mill somehow....

    Rosy Lee's

Rosy Lee's brekkie delivered to the boat, how much better can it get? Hmmmmm.
  21. Moored at reedham last night by the rangers office with a plug in, checked last night and had 30p left, this morning all 3 meters were up by a quid and only me plugged in. Thanks very much, unplugged and left still at a quid but thanks all same. I assume just unused cards, quay warden would have probably given money back.
  22. Check Ebay for 10" string wound filters, not bss compliant but cheap for temporary usage and 12v transfer pump. More for after bug than before.
  23. Marine16 is what I use, good enough for RNLI.
