  1. Sorry about this peeps, but any day is good for me, just a matter or choosing the right one .
  2. I've only fell in once, in my own marina of all places, and to this day can't understand why I did. One minute I was stepping onto a pontoon, and the next I was on my way into the water. On the way down, I tried to grab the side of the boat, but no luck, and with my hand sliding down the boat, ( My wedding ring was pulled off my finger ) and into the water. I was given a ladder to climb out by the then groundsman, and no harm done, except that my gold wedding ring was, and still is, at the bottom of the water, so if anyone should find it, you'll know who it belongs to, Baz. After this little excursion into the unknown, a friend of mine, who shall remain nameless, won't he Frank ie Mowjo, heard about my little escapade and promptly gave me a new name, it's now "Splash", bless him lol.
  3. LOL,Won't be long, but it'll seem like a lifetime. Is that with Richardsons ?
  4. Hiya Lori, Sorry to hear about the family problems, hope they're all sorted now. The Lumix as I said, is a great little camera, but like you, I also have another,it one I bought off of my son, a Nikon D40. Nothing really special, but it takes brilliant photos. Well you take care Lori, maybe see you one day on the boats eh. Baz
  5. Well I never, hello Lori, long time no speak. Are you OK. I still haven't put any pictures on the site, but the camera ( Lumix TZ30 ) is working great, maybe later eh. Take care Baz
  6. Hello Kathleen / Kerri What I usually do, after the engine has been looked after, is to drain all water tanks, lift all your cushions and stand them on their edges, this allows air circulation around them, and hopefully not allowing any mould to form. Some people take them all home, but I don't, and never had any problems. I also use those condensation collectors with the crystals in them, and also a load of plastic dishes filled half full of cooking salt, these help to remove any moisture from the air. I do actually leave the vents open to allow a free flow of air around the boat. Fill the fuel tank to the top, this also prevents moisture in the fuel. Open the fridge door and leave ajar. Open all doors on the cupboards, and leave open. Take home any clothing you might have on the boat. All this sounds as though it would take hours to do, but not so, maybe a couple of hours or so, and won't take too long to get the boat up and running again. Make sure that if you have a toilet with a holding tank, that you get a good pump out. Hope this helps you Kathleen / Kerri Baz
  7. Clispy Duck !! velly nice. Baz
  8. Actually Frank, the last time I bought any, it was on offer, Buy one Gallon, get one free lol. Have a nice day mate, love to Judi xx Baz
  9. You're not keeping tabs on me Frank are you ?
  10. Hiya Mark, I totally agree with the previous comments, but there's one more that I've always believed, and that is, if the diesel tank is filled to the brim over the winter months, there's less room for any condensation to form and therefore contaminate the diesel. I've always done this, and touch wood, never had any problems when starting up again in the Spring. Hiya Frank mate.

Nice one Andy, I well remember the Dolphin, had many a pint in there, and a game of Pool. The dinners were quite nice as well. As you say, hope to see you at some time eh. Regards Baz.

    Broads Edge?

Hello Stumpy, Andy, Just to say hello, and to say I and my wife Jan, had a static caravan on the Felixstowe Beach holiday park for 10 years, and loved every moment of it. Unfortunately, circumstances dictated that we should at last move on, hence the boat. Nice to 'see' you Andy/ Kathy, have a good evening . Regards Baz ( Barry)

    gales on the way

Hiya Samuel. Sorry mate, but what I've written was as it happened, and exactly how it was printed. Whether it was a wind up or not, I can't be sure, but as far as being satirical, definately not. If I'm wrong about the weather, then I can de-winterise the boat at any time I fancy, but on the other hand, at least I'm secure in the fact that if the weather were to turn bad, I don't have to try to get to the Broads to Winterise, as it's already done, so no problems eh. gales on the way

Hello Jill, long time no talk eh. Anyway, I read an extract in the Express, that in the next few weeks, the UK would be in the grip of a severe wintery time, including snow and ice, wind etc. Now I don't know if this is for real, but because I have a fair distance to travel, and the wife not feeling her best, I decided to go to the boat and 'Winterise' it. I know it's early, but better to be on guard so to speak eh. As I said, this report from the Express was on 'Facebook', so, is it for real, who knows. Regards Baz
  15. Hi all, Due to the compact design of my boat, I've always used a really nice, fleece lined, sleeping bag, and I've always slept in the forward 'v' berth. Really warm and cosy, and as I do my boating on my own ( wife has too many problems) I've found I have all the room I need. If i need some room up at the sharp end, all I have to do, is to roll up my sleeping bag and pillows, and hey ho. I love it. Baz
  16. Lol, You're a one you are Frank, and no mistake lol. I can see it finished now, and I'm sure you'll do the usual good job on it mate. I always thought Birchwood carried a good name with it Frank. Baz

    Broads Edge?

One other thing Alan, the time it takes me from roughly the QE2 Bridge to Stalham, is approx.2.5 hours @ 127 miles door to door. Baz

    Broads Edge?

Hiya Frank, I was at the boat last Monday, just for the one day though. Will be back again shortly, have to fit in my time with Jan's, you know the problems, but will certainly be back before Christmas. Glad you're back on the water, and in the Marina, I'll look you up next time I'm up, won't be too long, and I;ll bring some doughnuts. Baz

    Broads Edge?

Hello Alan, In answer to your thousand and one questions lol, Firstly, yes, it's safe and secure, with 24 hour entry and exit, done through a numbered card which raises and lowers a large bar across the road, the card will be supplied by the manager, with the pass number being changed every month, dead easy to follow. There are also tall metal gates with a combination padlock on them, number will be given by the manager. To be honest, I've never met any 'nasty' neighbours there, they are all very nice people, and I've been there for 7 years now. There is now Mains electric to nearly all moorings. Showers, water and toilets are supplied, with a new blocks being built as we talk. The state of the toilet blocks and showers is very clean. There is a very pleasant walk of about 15/20 minutes to the local shops, including a Tesco supermarket, with petrol garage as well, the shops in this town of Stalham will cater for all your needs. It's also on the main bus route for all major towns such as Potter Heigham, Wroxham, Horning and Norwich, so no problems there. There are also on site marine engineers for maybe that small job that needs doing, or even a much bigger one. As on many other places on the Broads, there will be icing during a cold winter, but to be honest, I've never really treated it as bad, as I don't use my boat during the winter months. I might go to the boat during winter, but basicly use it as a place to rest, or do some pike fishing. I'm not sure about how many berths there are available, David the manager could advise on that, as he will about the monthly payments or deposit etc, phone David on 01692 582881. The mooring arrangement are stern on mooring, but alongside a 'finger' pontoon, so there's always two ways on and off the boat, just how I like it. My eMail address Alan, is bbarnes13@sky.com, so if you send me yours I'll send you some recent pictures. Gald to help you Alan. Regards Baz (Barry)

    Broads Edge?

Hiya Alan, was there something special that you required ? I'm moored at Broadsedge, so if there's anything I can help you with, just ask. Regards Baz.
  21. Now then! where did I leave that boat ??? Hiya Frank / Judi. Hope all is well. Baz.
  22. Hiya SteveandDeb, Just to add my quick comment. It's quite possible, in fact highly likely, that you could end up paying a more for your boat when buying from the Broads, as opposed to buying elsewhere. But, I suppose it's all relative really, it depends on what you get for your money. Good luck to you both, and hope you get your boat, I'm so glad I bought mine. Baz

    Done it!

I've had some of that Frank, a bit embarrassing to say the least, but as you say, at least they are looking after the account for you. Baz

    Done it!

Hiya Frank / Judi. Love the name of your new boat, can't wait for my cuppa on it, and a doughnut of course. Baz.
  25. I'll do that Frank, be a week or so I would think, but would be nice to see you both again. Sorry to hear about the engine problems Frank, just what you don't need at the start of the season eh. The gearbox is the same as I've got in the boat, but because it's so old, I sourced another one to be used as spares, if it was ever needed. Anyway Frank, take it easy eh, and I'll see you whenever. Baz
