  1. Not me - but better that than the Express, the Scum or the Fail.
  2. For those who say that we shouldn't be making political points in a time of crisis I say if you're not angry, you aren't paying attention !
  3. Exactly. What collateral were directors of the banks required to put up in 2008 ?
  4. For a start, I would have taken notice and acted on the findings of Exercise Cygnus . I would have not permitted the Cheltenham Festival to have gone ahead, as well as a number of other large gatherings around that time. I would not have been so stupid as to have refused to take advantage of the pan EU procurement scheme for ventilators, PPE etc. I would have taken up ( or at least investigated ) numerous offers from small/ medium companies who were offering to supply essentials - and still are. As I said, that's just for starters !
  5. Excellent analysis David. Yet there are people who still can't see throught the inadequacies of the Government's handling of the crisis !
  6. Unless the Government choose to renew it !
  7. Just got pulled over by the police the officer said to me "sir I can smell alcohol" I said "yes that's because you are not respecting social distancing"
  8. Westminster Bridge yesterday evening . Even the Met's 'finest' seem to be avoiding the guidance , yet so many seem to be wound up at the prospect of peole getting in their cars to go somewhere nice for a walk
  9. I was speaking with a neighbour about this very issue yesterday (social distancing observed !) He had been refused an on line order for paint and rollers by B&Q since they were 'non essentials' , but home base accepted the same order - and delivered. Always rated B&Q as crap anyhow.
  10. Keep up - both of you. " Exercise Likely to be reasonable -Going for a run or cycle or practicing yoga. Walking in the countryside or in cities. Attending an allotment. -Driving to countryside and walking (where far more time is spent walking than driving). This is from the original link which I posted.
  11. Clear enough . Yes, you could 'drive for an hour to one of my favourite places, walk for 2-3 hours'. How is that an abuse ?
  12. I attempted to go on the B&Q web site at the week end - simply to browse for prices -n materials for a job I was planning when this lot is over. This is what appeared - FOR A ******G WEB SITE !
  13. https://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news/police-guidelines-for-going-out-during-coronavirus-lockdown-1-6610945?fbclid=IwAR1XYMSJUKna4LZkKSkgxMv5YaS9ZSRZYW3XOlhSlN41KjrGZdU34sr9dZU Very helpful clarficatio here regarding what is and isn't reasonable currently. Especially relevant IMHO is the section regarding 'exercise' .
  14. Me too. £0.0 for one car, £30 for the other . Tough, but I manage to find it...
  15. Brilliant. It would be rather nice if he could carry on until he's raised the other £338 Million
  16. Better than 'Broads National Park '
  17. Oh I don't know. Our lot seemed to think ( against some good advice it seems) that allowing the Cheltenham Festival to go ahead , allowing for a gathering of some 50,000 people over four days was reasonable...
  18. But Cyclists take the widdle. It's one of the rules of cycling.
  19. "The Government have made it clear that all outdoor sporting activity should cease and that includes fishing. Daily exercise in the form of running, walking or cycling starting or ending from home is permissible. " So I couldn't strap my rod to my crossbar , sling a bag of tackle over my back and pedal off to a quiet spot on the river - like I used to as a kid ?
  20. And hasbeen for centuries http://www.traditionalmusic.co.uk/folk-song-lyrics/Jack_Tar(2).htm
  21. This thread is rapidly deteriorating - on political lines. It's becoming clear where people sit on the spectrum
