  1. Buy me a pint and I might tell you what happens
  2. Me too! Could this be the boat to drag me away from Bounty?
  3. I would check where the heater fuel pipe leads to first, as mine comes from the primary filter head, which would mean 60/40 for all fuel

    Pump outs

When my boat was in hire, if you had a two week holiday, a refund would be given on producing a receipt for one pumpout.
  5. If I hear of it Neil, I will let you know matey! She was residing in the wetshed last week when I was down
  6. Thanks for the update Richard! Keep us posted
  7. If the heater was that old I would forgive it this little discrepancy!
  8. Interesting................Now a compressed air chaser would aid cooperation wouldn't it !
  9. That would also work well David But the ship hasn't sailed on my Weasel idea just yet! He seems keen, as I have promised him he will get a bath at the end of it
  10. Thanks Rod I will check it is clear before refitting. Now where can I find a cooperative Weasel?
  11. I don't know of any Jonny, but eBay might be a good place to pick one up at sensible money.
  12. Well after having my weekend onboard rudely cut short by heating failure, I removed it and brought it home for a good dose of looking at! After stripping it down I have to say, I'm amazed the bloody thing ran at all The burner was so choked up with carbon, that the glow pin was barely visible. Anyhoo, I've decoked it and got it back together without having any bits left over......Result! Now I have to wait till my next boaty visit to see if it actually works
  13. I'm not saying it is definateley that! It maybe a problem with the injector pump as David has pointed out, but it is another possibility sadly. As a matter of interest, have you just changed the oil in this engine? As when I used to do oil changes on 1.9 Peugot diesels, sometimes the refilling of the engine oil would lead to a small amount of oil getting into a breather pipe on the filler neck, this would sometimes result in the engine having a good rev to itself untill the oil had been exhausted.
  14. When you say the engine wouldn't stop and was revving uncontrollably, it sounds to me like it might have been finding its own fuel from somewhere? Like engine oil! Blown headgasket is a real possibility
  15. Sounds very encouraging for a busy season ahead Clive Certainly worth holding the new boat up in order to get the punters afloat in style this year.Lets hope this is a trend that will continue.
  16. How are they going to persuade the rest of the plug off the mould Clive?
  17. Tell you what Jonny lad. Next time your down there, go into the shed and gather the lads around and tell them why you think the mould wouldn't release Don't forget to post up which ward you are on
  18. Being proffesional boat builders Jonny, I think they might have thought of that one!
  19. Bugger! I was hoping you were going to come back and say it popped out like a well greased carrot
  20. Please don't make Rod cry Clive!
  21. The idea of honing a bore is to create little valleys for engine oil to hide in and lubricate the piston rings as the shoot up and down. Once glazed there is nowhere for the oil to sit and lubricate and so wear begins
  22. Your right about the Turbo not boosting at river speeds Adam, but a Supercharger runs all the time.
