Over the last few years I have seen a fair few riverside properties lifted, the quayside heading raised and garden heights increased.

Do you think this guy knows something ? (Not seen on broads, but taken from internet lol)

there are houses in Holland where the basement traps air and the house floats up in a flood, there are two walls to the basement so the house can rise vertically but not move laterally - a bit like a floating pontoon really.

There are houses in Lincoln built like this too...on a floodplain of course.

Nah Iain...the cathedral is so high off the ground to avoid contact with the Christmas Market...don't want religion interfering with the true commercial spirit of Christmas!cheersxmas2
