Instead of  what has now become a PC  concentration on speed limits it would be far better to put some of that money into putting bobbies on the road to sort out the dangerous, reckless and inconsiderate drivers, speed cameras don't catch the motorist who uses all 3 lanes on a motorway to overtake/undertake, the one who cuts across three lanes to an exit, the rolling road block idiot who sits in overtaking lanes be it motorway or dual carriageway at 55-60 mph. the motorcyclist who decides there is an extra middle lane for them for overtaking, the Twit who goes down the wrong side of the road to jump a queue of traffic in town or the inconsiderate who park on Zebra crossings or out side schools etc. all far more likely to cause an accident than someone a little over any speed limit.

The ones that drive through the right hand tunnel at the dartford crossing from kent, who then want to cross 3 lanes (including solid white lines) to take the first exit, there is only about 300 yards between the point they can physically start crossing and the exit slip, there are solid white lines until past the junction and notices that tell them to use the left tunnel for that exit, yet every morning, both cars and lorries....

no wonder this is the point accidents happen, then the left tunnel is closed to traffic so they can clear it up.

Surprisingly, when they close the left bore for maintenance they don't close that junction which the only way to access it at that point is by crossing the solid white line and breaking the law. They should close that slip and sign a detour up to the next junction, back on yourself to the previous junction.

when the left bore is closed there isnt a problem, its just when about 20 cars try and cut across from there in the mornings when theres barely a gap in traffic in the left lanes, its no wonder I have seen plenty of cars T boned on the front of lorries as they try and drive at right angles across the traffic.
