dnks34
If like me you had spent 2 unpleasant hours this evening re installing your heat exchanger and you had scratched and cut arms and knuckles to show for it the last thing you would want to be do ing would be buying a boat!! The engine tray was filling with water that was running off me! (sweat) Have I missed something about Wayford Marine. Were they not once a yard that would be recommended by a lot of folk on the forum? Im not getting that impression now.

ExMemberBobdog
I thought I read somewhere on here some while back that the boatyard at Wayford Bridge was being bought up by the guy that used to own the one at Martham Ferry?

Boaters
In today's paper plans for the future of this yard,. http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news/3m-bid-to-build-holiday-cottages-at-norfolk-broads-boatyard-1-5182692
marshman
Correct about the new owner - Mark King late of Ferry Marina and the developer of Martham Ferry. Not universally popular with some people.
WherryNice
There has been a vast reduction in boats both in the water and on land and the site is much tidier as a result. Be interesting to see how it all pans out, I moor next door so get a ringside seat Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
Polly
I understand a lot of the boats on site were crushed?
WherryNice
I didnt personally witness any being crushed but the graveyard area down the back is now very empty so I wouldnt be surprised if that's what happened, shame really as I quite like to see the old boats even if they are basket cases, I love to imagine the places they've been and all the people who holidayed on them n stuff like that, they have soul. Still it's understandable that they needed to go.Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
marshman
Sadly old basket cases rarely provide revenue to the yard owner and neither does your imagination!! Even in Norfolk as you acknowledge, we do have to catch up a bit sometime and just move on!!!
