Wyndham
Please go away. How many circuits do you need to do before heading to Turkey. Not a peaceful evening.

dnks34
According to a popular aviation forum it was sent to Brussels where another aircraft was situated which was used to continue the Journey, couldnt have been serious but the original aircraft must have needed checking. Ray
No need, you didn't know and circling planes really can spoil the peace when there usually isn't a safety reason for it!
dnks34
The pilots may have been trouble shooting a problem or waiting for instructions from the company. Either way it was probably necessary they stayed close to the Airport if there had been no reason they would have been on their way and not wasting fuel! I used to live adjacent to the Airport in Norwich and enjoyed the comings and goings, nothing like listening to a jet engine at take off thrust it never got annoying for me, even the Helicopters coming and going you get used to. Screaming kids and barking dogs however drive me insane!
Ray
I used to live near Heathrow and RAF Northolt, you either end up interested in planes or hating it! Fortunately I find aircraft fascinating... from the ground!
Lulu
I used to live at RAF Coltishall. Loved the tornados and rescue helicopters but my favourite was listening to the hercules engines droning on for ages. Loved that noise :)

oldgregg
Ah, the Jaguars... If Coltishall were very lucky, several of them would run at the same time
2000pi
Used to work at Ferranti Wythenshawe, about 1/2 mile from one end of Manchester airport, all machining had to stop at certain times, this was when the BOAC Super VC10s were winding their engines up for full throttle take off, after a few days working there you didn't notice any noise, even Concorde, not because you'd gone deaf, but you just got used to it! Went to Coltishall one year with my family, I was the only one not woken up by the engines!
