Heron
I wonder how much sand is eventually going to enter the Yare and then the Bure eventually causing problems on the Broads?

Interesting point, as far as I know any sediment deposits are only what have washed downstream, sand from the sea isn't deposited upstream. That's my understanding anyway, happy to be corrected.
Heron
I take your point however, when the tide comes in, anything floating in the water comes with it. I have seen seaweed floating up the Yare and Bure on an incoming tide so sand in suspension may be coming in also. Hope I am wrong, but no doubt time will tell.

Ray
Very high tide this morning, another tank trap gone and the last one won't be far behind it. Bits of the carpark falling into the sea as you watch and I believe the next fisherman's hut is in danger. Meanwhile the lifeboat was out just of shore, looked like a search pattern but of course an exercise would look the same.

I have not been down your neck of the woods for a while to have a proper look. This morning I put the roof down on the picnic car and set off to The Farm shop between Ingham and Palling. As it was such a beautiful day I decided to have a coffee at Winterton. Quite unbelievable what has gone in the last 6 months. The cash collection kiosk is in serious danger, Coastwatch accommodation moved to storage, pending finding another site and another Winter could see the refurbished toilets gone. The car park must have halved in size, but at least the Airstreams, now back in the dunes were catering.

Chris, you will have seen the new line of the beach, it is to be hoped that where the old cafe and carpark were protected but have now gone has in a way been a natural erosion of a somewhat artificial headland! At the moment it looks nice and should at least be stable until next winter then we shall see. I'm hoping not to become a sea front property in the near future! 🤞
ChrisB
Newly erected at Walcot/Bacton in an attempt to control wind blown sand that has become a real issue for people living Oceanside. Their gardens are effectively ruined. The threat of Tidal Surge has been replaced by the threat of Sand Storms. 1

ChrisB
SO that is where some has gone! It is a very long time since I have seen so much sand at Happisburgh/Cart Gap at nearly high tide.

There and between Gorleston and Corton is where the rest has landed.
