JanetAnne
Booked a lock today (Mutford Lock Oulton Broad) and was told that the Oulton Broad rail bridge is also now unable to be opened for the foreseeable future. I fit so it's not a problem and it doesn't really affect the majority on here, but it is just another example of the poor condition of the rail bridges in the area currently. Somehow I can't see finance being available to repair any of them for a very long time.

With the huge investment in signalling new level crossings and even lighting at stations they cannot neglect the bridges. BA report progress at their meetings on a regular basis now https://www.networkrail.co.uk/running-the-railway/our-routes/anglia/swing-bridge-renewals/#:~:text=We're renewing some of,safe state after each opening.
