Good Fishing 2020

Hi to the Forum Anglers has it been good Fishing on the Broads 2020 since the First Lockdown and what was the most species been Caught ?

A toss up between bream and roach I suspect! For me the bream fishing has been very good.

Hi Jenny Morgan I don't think we've have met but as you say Bream is good but it may not be in the near future? I've had some information the last time I was on the Broads in  September Tench and odd Carp about will there be more of them around the Broads?

The future of the North Rivers bream is in some doubt because of the proposal to dam off Hoveton Great Broad. Tench have always been on the Broads, just that they never take my hook. As for those pesky, nuisance carp, still like looking for a needle in a hay-stack but nevertheless the blessed things are probably breeding. Don't think that they'll oust the bream though.

I caught a nice Abu Garcia spinning rod complete with Abu Garcia reel on the green in Horning 😁 (hooked into it with a spinner)

Bream, roach and rudd were plentiful this year and we had one session when MrsO and I caught around 30 perch each, none over 8 inches long. Most enjoyable session was when I cought 2 decent perch on Salhouse Broad on a Mepps spinner followed by a 4lb pike. Interesting on very light tackle without a wire trace.

There have been some reasonably bad salt tides this autumn, we struggled all week during Lads week this year, although I caught a flounder float fishing at Ranworth Staithe which was a 1st for me.
