Burgh Castle Warning

Just picked this up on our Facebook group and thought it worth a warning here as of public interest. Posted by Norfolk Archaeological Trust.

“URGENT WARNING: It has been brought to our attention that there are unconfirmed reports of dogs being poisoned at Burgh Castle Fort – slug pellets in a mince ball.

We have no further details at present but advise all dog walkers to be extra vigilant at Burgh Castle Fort.  Norfolk Constabulary are involved with the investigation and the Parish Council are aware.  Please report to us and the police any suspicious activity or if you find anything of concern, thank you.”

Re: White Powder.

Lime as applied to grass and fields to raise ph can be harmful to dogs before it is absorbed into the ground.

Hydrated lime is also spread to kill off parasites on grazing.

I was out walking the dog yesterday and passed through Burgh Castle. I'm now glad I stopped off at The Fisherman's Inn and went no further before turning around after reading this
