Boat Rocking & Moving Windy Conditions

I nearly always add a third line as a spring if staying for more than a couple of hours. Can't remember where I got the idea from, but it's been sufficient everywhere on the Broads, but Yarmouth.

Hi, Helen on Moonlight Shadow they will have to brave this Stormy weather coming our way how will they be Mooring up to ease their Boat from Rocking?

Bit breezy at Neatishead ATM but springs set again in case the wind gets up while we are in the pub

The home mooring is really well sheltered, (see pictures) so she will be fine

Yes, we are nicely tucked up and sheltered, but still using spring lines to stop the boat rocking about too much. As I found out when I was coming in to moor, the odd gust of wind is rebounding off the shed. Just when I thought the wind was helping me in nicely (as it's blowing up our dyke) and before Graham had a chance to get off, the boat got blown off the quay heading alongside the shed. Luckily the mooring next to us is vacant at the moment, so it was easy to reposition. It did take me aback though.
