ExSurveyor
Another sad and neglected boat heading to the scrap yard. Neglect takes its toll.

Islander
The bottom photo looks like it was taken when at ABC wharf in Norwich. Where is it now Colin

No. It has been in private ownership, an out of the water project that didn't happen I believe.
OldBerkshireBoy
Where do boats go, as in is there a scrap yard as such?
ChrisB
Old GRP boats are a growing problem, there is a recycler in Gosport who the last I heard was charging about £100 per footup to 30ft. Apparently Fance and Sweden are leaders in the field, but with some 6.5 mllion leisure boats in Europe and about 2% reaching end of life each year it is no wonder boats are getting abandoned. Some countries grind them up and mix with road surfacing and adding the grinds to non-structural concrete.
ChrisB
The other problem with abandoned and scuttled boats is they have been found to add to the growing menace and danger to all life by Microplastic polution.

jeffbroadslover
Sad to see the first photo. I remember hiring one of these from Wing Line Cruisers in Brundall quite a lot of years ago (late 70's I think) Nice boat, 4 berth, 2 loos/showers and warm and comfy on board. Jeff Yes I remember in the early 1980s they looked super-modern for the time.
