Didn't they used to have a watering can full of beer? Sounds my kind of gig

I remember them from the 70s / 80s. There were more of them at that time and they hired 4 / 5 boats from Brooms. On a couple of occasions we tagged along with them, as did a few others. Their boats were were well stocked with drink, which they were very generous with. They were normally about early and one morning and I ventured out at about 8 o’clock and was offered what they called a heart start which was a large whisky. They were really good fun to be with.

We have been to a few of their performances over the years and enjoyed every one The Rats always create a happy party atmosphere.

Howard you are right ,we saw them at Upton and the watering can was used then ,but haven’t seen it since

My mother attended this banquet, then aged 20 and this was her souvenir programme.
