Thanks for the pics Ian. I have "flown" on the London Eye. Never been on the Tring Tring building. You most certainly see London from a different level!

I thought they were a permanent fixture in London these days? Put another way, always see them coming into London by train from Gatwick!

From BT Tower a few weeks ago. More cranes in the skyline than buildings.

With all my visits to London, I watched a lot of the SHARD raise from the ground.

For nearly eighteen years I worked in the Nat west Tower,Which then was the tallist building in the UK which was never dull.As long as I remember building has always taken part in the city and west end.

Ian I had to do some work on the nat west tower many years ago. Wel Before it was Tower 42. 

Sure it was the 42nd floor as well. Very impressive view. 

Do They still do the charity run up the stairs?

this is the view from my office  now. You can't see the cranes which are literally outside the window though

I along with many others helped to start the catering there, we had 12 dinning rooms, kitchen on the 39th floor, dinning rooms 38,40,41.Magic in the snow, saw the fly pasts for Falklands etc.

Who are you actually with in your picture at The Bridge? Anyone famous? I met Ron "Chopper" Harris there a few weeks ago - really funny and down to earth guy.

The Chinese bar in the Shard is well worth a visit. Last time we went it was £14.00 a pint though but the service was second to none and the view incredible, especially with a good sunset over the city.

I too worked in Tower 42 in 2002. Loved the view and watched as they built the Gerkin. Facinating!!!

Now, Ian, ... As a Chelsea fan you might be able to tell me why the folk on TV call their manager 'Jose', pronouncing the 'J'. I thought the pronounciation was as 'Hose a' with the J said as an h.
