  1. Oh sounds like a job for a hot water bottle to thaw it out maybe? Iain.
  2. Hi Alan, As I live but a few miles from Scotland's Premier Racecourse at Ayr, it was the Furlongs that tickled my fancy. Never seen the rivers measured like that...ever! lol As it happens I found what I was looking for, and it appears we keep hiring boats that Siddy has had in the past! lol I am quite looking forward to having a boat with "proper" seats on it. Iain
  3. Awe Grace, I just love happy endings so I do Iain
  4. Hi All, While browsing about, as one does, I came across this site, and had to have a chuckle. It appears there are other ways of measuring river distances! http://canalplan.eu/waterway/q3p0 So JM when are you racing in the 2,30pm 3miles and 4 furlongs! Iain.
  5. As John (Hockham Admiral) said, time to put this thread to bed folks. I had missed his previous request. Iain.

  12. Hi Graham, Welcome to the NBN Forum Iain.
  13. Hi Monica, My sincere apologies for not using the full word, but I had an argument with a Fire Extinguisher, on Broadway2, hence to me it is a FE. A very painful memory! If you look at Sparkling Horizon http://www.richardsonsboatingholidays.co.uk/boats/sparkling-horizon/?startdate=23/09/2016&pets=0&duration=7 you will see the FE is out of harms way....I hope! Iain.
  14. Hi Johnnie, Welcome aboard the NBN Forum Iain.

  18. Shhhh Alan, the leg has just fully recovered from that escapade I have checked on pics where the FE is on Sparkling Horizon, all looks very safe for next month! Iain.
  19. Hi Simon, I agree totally with all that's been said. But I must add SWMBO has just remarked, what a very handsome son you have. You must be very proud of him. I bet he did a fair bit of ducking inside the boat, he looks a tall laddie! Iain.

  23. I use to use a pencil and paper and calculator to do the weekend Golf Medal, it took hours to complete a result. Thanks to computers and members entering their scores direct into the remote PC I churned out the whole days results in under 20 minutes! I detested PCs in the early days. but love them or loathe them, they are here to stay till some other technological wonder appears on the scene! Iain
