  1. I drive a now year old 1.5Diesel Injection (Renault) Never seen any smoke from its exhaust. The modern and that's the trick, the word Modern engines are far more cleaner and fuel efficient, IMHO of course. Iain.
  2. Maybe I have missed something, but where has SOB been when all this has happened? Is it still unwell and on dry land? Iain
  3. Don't do it JM!!! Too Risky! They will have you walking the plank! Iain.
  4. Hi Folks, While delving for that bus thread of Adnams Girl (Carol) I came across this set of films. It may be of interest to locals and members in general. . http://www.eafa.org.uk/search.aspx?g=1087758 Iain.
  5. Send the pic to this site Carol... I see the editor is from Norwich. http://easterncountiesomnibusco.com/index.html Iain
  6. Alan!!!! Where is the CHICKEN Emot! Enjoy your sailing, Clive. I suspect its the one where they all bomb down to Braydon and back to Brundal? They all decended upon me as I passed by Berny a few years ago. The Vultures, sorry spectators, all had pieces of paper and pens at Reedham? Iain
  7. Hi JM that is why I also suggested National. It requires you good folks of the east coast to get the info. I will keep searching though. Iain
  8. Hi Carol, Looking at the height of the ladies jacket/coat and ankle showing I would say very early 20's. Not quite sure when Eastern National or Counties began. Iain
  9. Not forgetting where the fire extinguisher is fitted Don't forget your Loyalty Card points as well! This will/could be the most in depth Holiday Tale .....ever! Iain
  10. Only ever seen an Osprey up in the Highlands. But believe they migrate to West Africa in winter. Have heard of them seen in Norfolk though. Iain.
  11. Thanks for the Review, Robin. The Saloon area, apart from helm and seating has all been changed over the years. The TVs were on swivel wall brackets in the bedrooms. Also the original heads were proper WCs. Its amazing what can be done I guess over a winter refit and back out in time for the new season. Iain.
  12. Trust a sailey to come up with THAT idea ! You little tinker JM! Iain
  13. If the weather is kind to you Geoff, it NEVER rains in Wales ...Honest! Swallow Falls is always worth a walk down the steps. Just remember to take a rain mac for the spray! Iain
  14. Why is it Charlie, I have visions of a lady standing behind you with a frying pan in her hand and about to lay it on your bonce! Iain
  15. Old wives tale more than likely, but years ago I was told the damper/fresher the conker the more chance the creepy crawlies will keep well away. Iain.
  16. Portmerion use to charge entry by the state of the weather! We were fortunate enough to see the architect Clough Williams Ellis on the day we were there in 1974, The Prisoner was very much the thing then where it was filmed. Dull n wet was a lot cheaper. Parking in Porthmadog can be a bit of a challenge too! So much to see in that area, that four days is just tickling the surface. Enjoy it all. Iain.
  17. It was also on BBC Text News page 1010. Iain

    Phones!

I agree totally regarding the make and model of your mobby. SWMBO had an old Nokia C1 basic phone me a Samsung Note4 both on EE/T-Mobile. She had three bars I had ziltch! So the built-in antennas must have a say in whether you get a signal or not. IMO.
  19. You know what they say Dave, you are using the wrong type of conker Iain
  20. One word....."Conkers!" failing that a size 11! These sods can bite! Please take care with them about. Iain
  21. Give Llanfair PG a miss, unless you wish to take a pic on the station platform with you standing beside the name! I have a family connection to Moelfre, be it a distant one. At one time in that village, marriage was difficult if not impossible, as all the families were inter related I believe. Hughes,Evans and Owen) Dick Evans http://rnli.org/NewsCentre/Pages/Double-celebration-for-Moelfre-RNLI-as-new-£27M-lifeboat-arrives-and-revamped-S.aspx is the gentleman I am related to down my mothers side of the family. He was on This is Your Life with Eamonn Andrews. Both my Mother and her other two sisters were on standby, to appear on the programme, but were not called as it happened. Viking, I can thankfully park there anywhere within reason with my Blue Badge, but as you come into the village on the Right hand Side, there use to be a viewing area for a few cars. I admit its well over 40 years since I was last there, but villages like that don't change much. The Pub did sell the "REAL" Guinness in those days, not the watered down stuff we get here today. Sorry to highjack your thread Geoff, was only going to be a line or two! Ooops!! Iain
