  1. Eric, my most sincere condolences on your loss of your mum. Take care matey.
  2. Something with a minimum i5 or i7 should I would think keep your graphics up to speed, Tim. I personaly have a i5 with a good dollop of RAM. I bought to store photos. Sadly with my old legs not behaving, I have not been able to get out and do some picy taking. I have the Isle of Arran next on my list, oh and Millport on Cumbrae also. Happy PC hunting. IMHO dont buy a HP pc all the geeks I know say its no very guid! Iain
  3. Its ok Lyns, Gracie is fully conversant in my native tongue, she can spoke fluent gibberish just like the rest of us can! Iain
  4. Guid !! Ave been tae Old Trafford many times Lyns, but no yon fitba polace, the cricket wan !
  5. Indeed I do, had a few pints in there on a Tuesday market day. One landlord in there had a very loud barking German Shepherd, scared the life out of SWMBO as we entered one evening! We liked the occasional meal in the Kingfisher Hotel at the far end of town. Iain

A wee word of warning Bob, sunburn creeps up quickly on a boat with the reflection off the water as well as the sun above. Use a good skin cream protection at all times. Iain
  7. One area IMHO that has deminished at Beccles, JM, is the Sunday Market, sadly I hardly recognised it the last we went. It was miniscule compared to what it had been before at the old air base. I can only assume, someone was too greedy for plot profit? Iain
  8. Aye Grace, ya wull that and a monthly supply of Pork Scratchings ye ken ! If ye think am bad,Neil (Wonderwall)is a hellovalot worse then ah am. Ah struggle wi yon weird Edinbugh / Dundonian twang. Posh Ayrshire is unerstawnt awe ower the world so it is !

  10. Awe come on folks, everyone want to stop at Potter H to empty their boat waste in that ONE bin they have there. Why do I say that? Just think back to the number of pics that have been taken of it! Lets not knock anywhere on the Broads, after all we have new boaters reading our Forum 24/7 they will be wondering OMG, is this place really worth going to see! Of course it is....warts and awe! Rant over! Iain
  11. The pilot will guide you I am sure, if it comes to that scenario Bob. Its amazing what a dozen extra bodies on board can do to boat heights! Iain

  13. Level off the roof and put a viewing balcony with a bar on top?
  14. Hi Dave, You would be surprised how cheap it is to build by kit built as there is little waste. Iain
  15. Get a hold of the original Bridge Inn architect drawings, and rebuild a mock up with modern materials by computer built. (KIT BUILT) That was a pub with character, one of my all time favourites sitting outside next to the bridge. Happy days. Just knock down the Broadshaven and put the new build there in its place. Now, all that is required are the six numbers to come up ! Iain

Yes the warm spell up here has gone this morning, still bright, but a cool wind.. Iain
  17. I was flying a lot to London for about seven years, and while I could fly from Prestwick to Stanstead it was fine going, but the coming back a nightmare at Stanstead. Flying to Bournemouth was also very pleasent, till Mr Ryanair pulled the plug on that route. Last few years it has been Glasgow to Gatwick, and I hated it! By the time I returned home, felt like a zombi. Gatwick security is so slow compared to Glasgow, probably shear mass of people to be checked, I guess However, I do like a wee trip to Spain still for the heat on the okd bones. iain
  18. Reading the latest updates, nothing has changed since they opened the by-pass in 1993! From memory, I think they had to resurface it after a year or so! Iain
  19. Thank you Carol, another enjoyable film of Broads history. I get the feeling the chap cooking the heart attack in a pan, was possibly ex WW2 forces. Did you notice how he was frying the eggs! Amazingly, from what we could see, the eggs were not sticking to the pan ! Iain
  20. Oh we sneeked a draw in the last minute! 1-1All to play for in the second leg on Sunday! More agony watching it on TV Iain
  21. Hi Howard, Well, I will require to sample it again! My dearly beloved had put it in the fridge for a short period of time - its been warm up here - anyway, I would say its a light 3.9abv, has a nice nutty flavour, and certainly a session ale. I would say it would take quite a few to start perfoming handstands, or doing the Rumba or Cha cha cha with Gracie!Seriously, if deffo should be consumed at room temp, not chilled, hence I will require further sampling! It was £1.65p in Asda. Iain
  22. Hi Howard, I am just about to watch my local team on BBC Alba, Ayr United at Stranraer. Nothing special about that says you, correct, until I tell you I spied Red Squirell today in Asda ! http://www.arranbrewery.co.uk/red-squirrel-presenter/ Its my refreshment to watch the game with!. I shall report back later, just in case its one you have not sampled in the past. Iain
  23. Errrr since when did we start doing jokes on this Forum?
