  1. I pay, and given the balance of my viewing, I get value for money, without flipping adverts.
  2. I agree with Doug the incendiary ones work well, the others don't. The gas version looks a bit clumsy to be honest.

    Anti Fowl

You think so Tim? It makes me wonder why most of the woodies have gone over to antifoul.
  4. The BSSC website publishes the criteria for passing the test, so you can check stuff out yourself before the test.
  5. My suggestion would be to contact LBBY, Ludham Bridge Boatyard. The overland transport can offload you there, and you can book a BSS exam there too. You have to be insured, it would seem that your own insurance company requires BSSC ? I don't think a one month toll can be deducted from the annual, and the bad news there is that it runs annually from April to April with no sliding scale. Are you sure you cannot find a local inspector? The Boat Safety website lists qualified examiners. At least one covers East Yorkshire The most likely issue for your Hardy will be self draining petrol locker required and your gas installation.
  6. Hi and welcome! Have a good holiday.
  7. Will they be steamed or barbecued?
  8. Well that was one of my insightful suggestions.
  9. We aren't using the larch.....it's a long story! Or is that a knotty problem?
  10. Stringers? Bitzawood? Straight spare ribs? Um..........!!!! What's left of my larch once the knotty bits are removed?
  11. Woodies are oh so demanding but they feel so much warmer and more welcoming than fibreglass in my experience.
  12. It's mainly because Martin's tender, GRP and all got squished by a cruiser too, as I recall, and he is bearing it a grudge, quite unfairly! i love our GRP Whimp, wouldn't change it. Brilliant is quite enough woodie for my bank balance.
  13. Bridge 'ole is a canal term. Maybe they think we are all in steel hulls and able to withstand the dreaded fisherfolk?
  14. Pug dogs yes, ferrets no! It wasn't Mark and Lyns was it?
  15. Sorry I couldn't find the Archaeology section I thought we had. C4 tonight interesting on the subject of Ancient Egyptian boatbuilding.
  16. After my last sailing week we were on our way home and took a break at a new 'retail park' about 20 mins from home. I wanted to ditch the trainers I had finally rendered as too scruffy that week, so we pottered about looking for replacements. Whether it was post holiday madness or not I don't know but I ended up with a secret wish fulfilled....bright red Converse All Stars. Phill kindly bought them for me and they cheer me up no end.

    Towing

One Hunters looped round a tree. One Hunters dinghy sunk to the gunwales with small boy aboard. One Whelptons on the mud in S.Walsham The fact is, sailing is just more exciting is all. Oh yes and one lady fallen off the back of a stinky at Ranworth.
  18. Hammers? screwdrivers? beer?

Ok but at least we don't have trick bunks on OUR boat!!
  20. Marigolds, I am quite happy to pick up spiders and chuck them off the boat if I have a pair of these.
