  1. Looks lovely and much better in the grey, very smart.
  2. Yes I've seen a couple of the repainted royalls boats, you can still see the orange under the white on the roofs. I guess painting out such a bright colour properly isn't easy or cheap.
  3. Indeed, it's a shame so many yards have disappeared. Another thing I miss are boatyards individual colour schemes. Aston boats,Castle craft and my personal favourite summercraft. Its so boring having all white boats with a few stickers added.
  4. Alan Johnsons, they were a nice fleet of boats. Do we know why they ceased hiring,Easticks didn't they have that bounty 37 bathtub with a patio type area at the stern. The good old days when there were hire fleets on just about every river bank.
  5. I don't remember them either I'd hazard a guess it was something to do with richardsons. I see in the brochure they mention free transport to the station, didn't horizon craft offer that as well.
  6. No moneypenny and cover girl are both hire boats avaliable via hoseasons both from NYA Brundall...
  7. I was thinking the same, surely it didn't take hours for the emergency services to respond. Even the most inexperienced of skippers would realise quite quickly they had a big problem. So we can only assume they were travelling after dark. As Vaughan has said it looks like it's hit the bank at some speed. Let's hope not to much damage has been caused.
  8. Looks like cover girl or money penny from NYA at Brundall. The tide going out has probably made that look worse then it is. That said how long did they wait till they called for help. Surely the lifeboat responded quite quickly. Hopefully everyone and the are OK.

Sadly you will find most families are financially totally over stretched, buying houses holidays, cars etc they can't really afford after being brainwashed. Very interesting article in the daily express the other week, they are predicting that the car leasing schemes most manufacturers offer is reaching boiling point and is about to burst with manufacturers left with billions in toxic debt. We have just brought our youngest daughter out of hers as it was quite obvious she was just getting into a downward spiral of debt. Sadly my offer to her of using my father's old skoda I still have undercover in my warehouse, didn't go down to well lol.. who be a youngsters today..

I work in a transport department for a large supermarket. We have been struggling to recruit hgv drivers for some years now. Our full time employed Eastern European driver have said with us since brexit the problem is with our supply of temp staff. HMRC have made changes to the tax status of agency employed hgv drivers they are no longer allowed to be classed as self employed. At a guess we have seen at least 70% of our regular temp drivers just dissappear overnight. Compound this with the ongoing struggle to entice younger ppl into our industry and we have a perfect storm brewing. We are already experiencing daily route roll overs ( jobs we just can't cover ) this will very soon cause shortages in our stores. Its the same for our suppliers with some fresh and chilled suppliers capping our daily order limits. It's is a very real problem and it's causing a huge amount of stress in our work place. My cousin works for the country's biggest brewer and its the same for his distribution centre.
  11. It looks like bridgecraft are bringing golden bridge back into service according to their fb page.
  12. Does anybody actually care, about badges etc etc how vain 🤦

The ferry at Horning is having to close its kitchen some days due to lack of staff, we stayed at the Nelson Premier Inn Norwich the other week, lots of there staff haven't returned from furlough. The industry is going to have a tough summer ahead. Its a shame really as it potentially a summer of being really busy. The industry really needs to take a long hard look at itself and how it treats and pays its staff.
  14. There's definitely a market for good quality 2 berth boats. The mould tool would need a total rework. The whole stern of the boat would need updating. A lower transom, open up the stern, bigger rear doors. A good front well and finding room to get the engine out of the cabin and mounted in the rear. The two new designs out there from woods and len funnel are actually quite good in my opinion. They seem very popular, barnes encore seems very popular as well which is just an updated aquafibre mould but a very good update. So yes if you've got a bucket of spare cash it might work lol...
  15. 2022 should be a good year for new boats, barnes are working on there new boat we also have NBD new floating Palace. I've seen the mould for this one sitting on the yard looks huge to me. Clive has his new boat in progress and I hope richardsons finish off their new sedan. Something to look forward to 👌
  16. Good to see another new boat, to be fair silverline are always adding new boats. Very smart looking fleet as well.
  17. Normal Sunday morning in Wroxham then 💁‍♂️
  18. This is exactly the point I tried to make about suncharms rear cabin layout. You can actually walk round the bed, access through the rear doors past the bed is not a problem. A very well thought out design in my opinion. That said we are both only 5.10 so not giants.
  19. I've hired a few boats of this design, sadly never any of the ex swancraft boats. But for me the best rear cabin layout by far is broads suncharm. The walk round double set at an angle across the cabin with the headboard keeping your head away from the rear windows and the annoying dripping condensation,is spot on for us. Lovely boat Clive hope she does well.

    Dog Overboard

Great outcome for both dog and owners...👌
  21. Putting him up in Hemsby is a big clue there.
  22. Hope the weather picks up for you Simon, look forward to what you have to say. They seem to have a large number of repeat customer's that in it self speaks volumes in my opinion. Enjoy
  23. I'd agree with you on the interiors, quite a few of the older boats could do with updating internally. The same could of been said for quite a few of the old summercraft fleet. Looked absolutely immaculate on the outside but internally the upholstery, galley units etc were past there sell by date. I remember being quite surprised by all the water stained wood in the saloon on grecian girl and well worn upholstery. Immaculately clean but a bit of a let down.
  24. Hi Simon, can I ask what boat you are having.
  25. As far as I can tell this is a policy from the Manchester based co op ( the big one, ) It will have no impact in co op stores around Broadland as they do not own or operate them . Broadland co op stores are mainly East of England co op and Central England co op stores.
