Just been looking at booking a dual steer boat for a week next year, with our daughter, son in law and granddaughter. Looked at brinks melody nice looking boat, like the upgraded seating area on top, then looked at bolero from Clive's yard..... Wow nearly £600 difference in the total hire cost, yes Barnes charge £50 more in furl deposit and there's no early booking discount, but that some difference... We have been on board bolero our sons hired it three years ago, it's had the new flooring laid since then and she doesn't have tinted glass like melody and I think melody is an older boat. All that said I really don't see how they justify such a difference ?? Clive if you see this, have you any plans to change the upper deck on this class ???

hi grace,the best time to visit the broads for us is spring time. we love watching the broads and wild life wake up from its winter sleep. take a look at salerno as i think it offers better vaule then domingo... anyway what ever boat you choose im sure you'll enjoy.

Well after watching the rascals blog of his trip on Salerno, and Clive confirming she is having all new wooden flooring fitted over the winter, we have book Salerno for a trip in July. Fantastic value !!! It's also our first every broads trip in the high season, I'm sure it's going to be a lot busier then we are use to !!! counting down the days

John it took you that long to get bored !!! Lol, with all the ongoing probs Richard and co seem to have with the forum this could end up being the longest thread EVER !!! hurry up Clive and start another boat design thread at least there worth reading ... Of course it's only my opinion :-/

I'm going to buck the trend here !!! It's getting a bit boring now, I don't visit the forum anymore as I find it a tad hostile at times. I always got the impression it's is a platform for some very opinionated people that only have one thing in common and that is there own views. I'm sure il be pulled apart for my comments, but hey I got an email asking me to donate the other day so I'm sure I should feel part of the family !!!

just got my amended invoice from your good selfs clive, discount has been applied. nice surprise as i wasn't expecting it as far horizon is a platinum boat ( i thought all the platinum boats were excluded ) now to see if hoseasons do the same for suncharm !!!

hi guys, we are looking for a base early next year for my brother, mate and partners, we will be boat hunting. we have formed our own syndicate ( well sort of ) iv only just discovered this site and seems an ideal base for the broads.. anyone had any experience of the site ?? thanks in advance. andy

Not too impressed either pictures to small and some even blurred !! Clive could I ask why your broadsman etc don't feature in the starboard collection, even the moon fleet versions don't ??? but hey to be honest most peeps on here are clued up as to what's on offer.. I love the front cover

The oulton pearl built by newsons !!! hideous looking thing. I think you can still see one from the the webcam at oulton broad!!! Just remembered the floating caravan thing that Truman's use to hire as well.. the beer in Lowestoft must be strong some really odd designs have been built at oulton broad IMHO !!

Should hope so he runs a rather large company all Kidding aside Clive, I'm surprised you work on an average budget of a 20 week season.. You obviously have boats that perform better then this ie your new models, but after all the cost and overheads are striped out there can't be a lot left, for future investment in fleet buildings etc. I'm also surprised that ba dosnt give / offer a discount to the larger operater as an insentive to keep your fleets viable. As I'm sure we are all aware if the likes of yourself woods and the big boys in wroxham went the broads would in my opinion die as a mass holiday destination. Seem to me as an odd set up with no insentives for the yards to invest from the authority that promotes the broads.. Don't get it !!

I see royalls new boat is all but finished. I must say I'm a big fan of Nigel and Sarah royall. There nice folk and work really hard and have a first class fleet ( granted not the most modern ) but always presented to a very high standard. I notice the have stuck to tradition with a lot of wood in the new boat ie the helm seat isn't plastic but hand made in wood etc etc. I like this. But iv noticed swan dosnt seem to be being let thro hoseasons She seem fairly well booked for next season but I can't find her on hoseason web site ( not had there brochure yet ) just wonder if this is the way forward for the smaller yards in trying to cut costs. And there testing the water so to speak.. Prob got this all wrong just thought it would of been on there agents site buy now !!! Anyways good luck to them with the new boat

Hi Lori, we have hired a melody number 4 !!! Great value good boat .. We also hired late in the season and the heating was rather good and warmed the boat well.. Can trembler how we did with the fuel ... No what u mean about that dark green really don't like you.
