  1. Just received an email from ferry marina anouncing new ownership. Any idea who now owns the business ?
  2. Hi captain, i should of worded that better. I looked at there web site and noticed that for 2019 ( sorry don't know boats names ) they have withdrawn the calypso design and the alpha single level boat. So i guess the fleet is one down unless there is another boat in the pipeline. But agree a much improved and more modern fleet.
  3. Nice addition to there fleet, have they retired two boats this season ?
  4. Hired Gainsborough girl about 12 years ago, really couldn't fault the presentation of the boat. Only niggle we bad was the saloon upholstery need an updating, from the recent photos I've seen it's still the same. Summer craft stand out for me in terms of boat presentation along with silverline at Brundal. If a yard puts that much effort on prepping a boat on turn around then I'm pretty sure everything else has had just as much attention.
  5. Hi Clive, how weird I asked about the progress of this boat the other day on your fb page. Looks really smart I'm a fan of sedan type boat. Look forward to seeing her afloat.
  6. After a recent visit to the broads, I noticed a few hire boats with quite smokey engines, one that was partially bad, was chucking out quite a lot of blue smoke at ranworth. From a very well respected yard, I just got to wondering, how long does a hire boats engine last..

    Alpha Craft

Sad news indeed, such a shame when you think they mold some of the most popular boats ever on the broads. Guess with the likes of Richos and co going back to moulding there own craft, demands has fallen off, designs getting a bit long in the tooth and all that. Do we know if someone will buy the moulds ?? Good luck to all the staff.
  11. Hi guys, check out barnes new live HD webcam..bloody brill imho, come Clive time for you guys to catch up..
  12. Hi Clive, seen some photos of what looks like the new picnic boat you mentioned some time back. Are theses the new boats for fineway ??

  15. Hi Howard yes that's was us, hopefully we didn't spoil ur day !!!
  16. I'm sorry this is late being posted, we are ten days out from our wedding and things are pretty manic !! We visited the falgate on the Sunday afternoon of my stag, tbh as Essex boys we were a bit apprehensive on entering the pub ( a few of us hire boats on the broads but have never been to this pub ) the bar was full and I think the locals were a tad shocked that ten pirates walked thro the door !! We were greeted by The bar man and we placed our drink order and starting chating to the guys in the bar.. Then the land lady appeared ( I'm sorry we can't remember her name ) and promptly placed a pink boa around my neck welcomed us and allowed us to use there function room.. We were then given bar snacks free of charge ( wow ) we don't even get that service in our local !! Sadly we got bored with our own company so decided to go back to the main bar and watch the footie and rib the local man city fan watching them loose ( as west ham fans, this gave us great pleasure ) he proved to be a great sport and all in all we were made very welcome by all and had loads of laughs and made new frinds, and I hope the feeling was mutual.. All in all by far the best pub we visited over the weekend, the owners and locals great !! If anyone knows the owner please pass on my comments, kim and me will be back afloat in sept and I promise this will be my first port of call.. Only down side my boxer shorts where taken down from the pilots office flag pole before the three rivers.. We had a very keen sweep on the odds.. #norfolkmemories..
  17. Great pic jonzo, Sorry to go a bit of topic, but when we all arrived at stalham last Friday a broadsman was moored next to our boats, and some of my stag party took an instant like to her. They wanted to upgrade I told them they had no chance as we wouldn't be allowed as an all male group, but they were having none of it and went down to reception to ask..to my shock they were told they could for £500, sadly they only had one available so that kinda kill the idea off otherwise we would of. Was shock tbh Clive that you would allow these boats out to a stag party and the potential issue that could arise..
  18. Well boats returned safe and sound on Monday morn, we did get one complaint from a lady @ potter about speed and it was sorted straight away, I'm not aware of any other issues and our group was received warmly everywhere...top marks to all. have to say we were shocked when we we're told by the broads beat officer at Rickos that the ferry inn now charges £20 a head entrance fee for stag and hen do against damage, needles to say we didn't go in there...great w,end was had by all and Rickos have just gained another two customers for there broadsman boat..
  19. hi everyone, I thought I'd post this up after seeing the video and comments of the herbert woods boats this w,end. My stag party will be aboard theses boats this weekend, five of us are regular broads hirers, and are only too aware of the issues such parties can cause. IV not doubt we will be in high spirits, but we will do every think we can not to disturb others enjoyment. If you see us plz come and say hello, we are a very friendly bunch ( I promise ). I had thought of sailing into sail house to give the forum meet up a broad side ( only joking ) have a great w,end afloat. But if you have any issues with us plz contact me via this site and I will deal with it.. andy
  20. Great read Bryan, great boat and a fantastic yard. Sadly I fear you are correct about summer craft, I've looked at it and that don't seem to offering boats in 2016..
  21. I've hired number two about four times now and would have to agree with Dave the saloon dosnt get that warm on cold nights, morn. The old system was much better then again we never had a prob with old system, we have a soft spot for suncharm. She's a cracking boat for a couple and would choose her over the new Broadway just personal choice.
  22. Confirmed on Nigel blogg that number 2 is for sale at the end of this season..
  23. Just looking to book swan for 2016 and its heavily booked already, sadly so is the week we want. I also noticed that there's only one ambassador showing on hoseasons site for 2016. Let's hope they have another new offering,Nigel showed us aboard swan last sept on turn around day, a mighty fine boat with a huge amount of space.
