  1. I could, but it's in portrait format whilst previous calendars have been in landscape so perhaps it's not best suited. However as you have asked nicely!
  2. A serious question, should you really be drinking Stella?
  3. A picture is, allegedly, worth a thousand words! Hopefully this picture is self explanatory.
  4. Oulton Broad Regatta 2018 is over, speedboats take over on Monday afternoon! Pictures taken on the last day.
  5. That all sounds good, be up that way soon, but Doombar, ummm!
  6. Can't have rubber skid marks on his well polished shank now can we!?
  7. If you have lovingly burnished stainless steel rhond anchors then you wouldn't want to maul them with a lump hammer either! The way is no secret, just that folk won't believe how easy it is!
  8. All but a few were taken out on the Broad, a few were taken from the sailing club compound. I can remember, given time!
  9. Oulton Broad is my back garden! A few from today, picture four showing why there is a need to dredge Oulton Broad!
  10. I'm a Lidl fan, can't afford Tesco , so I can only go by hearsay but apparently you can save time by ordering from Tesco using your computer and either collect or have your order delivered to your boat or the yard. That should mean that you can get away from your moorings quicker. Any one tried it?
  11. Great Yarmouth is great for a day out, as is Wroxham Barns and Bewilderwood. Norwich and Beccles are also great destinations, just so much to do. Don't try and cram it all into just one week, there is always next year! Re mobiles, there are blackspots on the Broads, for example I'm told that Horning is excellent for not being able to get a signal.
  12. Solace is top of a very expensive pile!
  13. Some of the support vessels are pretty impressive too!
  14. Needs to get his priorities right!
  15. Ladybird has gone full circle as she's now racing again, sail number 113, as Vaughan has mentioned. I heard a buzz that one of her owners is a forum member.
  16. More 'real' boats, Oulton Broad this morning. That blue sky is for real, lucky us.
  17. And some aren't! Our handicap is 18 but then we do have a degree of comfort and we even cook and sleep aboard.
  18. River Cruiser Class despite being an out and out racing machine, as several of the class are but that has long been the way of racing yachts. I was told what she cost, wow, but then she is a state of the art boat!
  19. Joking aside Andrea Kelly is no fool, very likeable too, so I'm confident in the value of her opinion. However I'm wary, as you might expect. I well remember when green wheelie bins were introduced into my neck of the woods. We were told that the service would be self financing, that the processed green waste would be sold. Perhaps some of it is sold but I also know that the surplus, effectively over supply, goes into landfill. What was supposed to be an earner for our local council is now running at a loss and we now have a council tax surcharge to cover the shortfall. Okay, so Suffolk County Council is not the Broads Authority but the Authority does not have an unsullied record in regard to commercial undertakings. Perhaps the Broads Authority should leave this one to private enterprise.
