  1. Peeing in the sink is a traditional solution, but only after all the crocks have been removed.
  2. Reckon it's time to sort out thirteen good pictures, a job for this coming weekend so any last minute offerings, please, by Friday.
  3. If all all else fails then bucket and chucket. and remember, if there is a wind, to jettison contents to leeward!
  4. Don't worry, Frank, it'll all pull through!
  5. Trev, a fresh approach to a stern-drive?
  6. Personally, if I wanted all the comforts of home then that's where I would stay. But then my idea of boating is more akin to camping, indeed I actually set up tent on my boat. I suppose, if my boat was my home, then maybe my attitude would be different but for me boating is about not having the comforts of home. As for sleeping, I have found that fleece sleeping bag liners make darn good beds.
  7. What a question lead survey!
  8. Am just reading the latest edition of Broads Sheet, not much sqit, plenty of interest! Re that survey, according to Broadsheet you can participate by logging onto: http://surveys.insighttrack.co.uk/Boats

  10. Have seen kids in the aft cabin with the door to the platform open, an accident waiting to happen? I have met boaters whose platforms have been expensively damaged when moored stern to. Not sure that I'd bust a gut to own one although I can see the attraction, I think.
  11. No filter, Max, just a broad Norfolk sky as we get them in October.
  12. It appears to be, at least down South. The shy-talks have taken over, a few anglers and a few private boats out there but next to no hire boats out on Oulton Broad. This shot was taken a few evenings ago, not a 'tripper', 'grockle' or 'izzert' in site, despite the excellent 'T-Shirt' weather. Been a good summer, excellent weather although due to caring responsibilities my boating has been somewhat curtailed this year. That aside have managed a few good trips although didn't get across Breydon this year.
  13. I do know of a side on, quay heading, electrics, private mooring, non marina, not shared mooring at Oulton Broad. Nearby parking, only £2,000.00 per year for up to 45ft.
  14. I don't doubt that Broom see a healthy future for their business of producing sea-going bling boats, lots of lottery winners out there! I have often wondered why they don't relocate to the coast, Lowestoft for example. Financing by housing development, interesting move . I'm with Strowger on this one, only I don't think that he has been misunderstood.

  16. Clive, lifted off the Waterfly website: 'Built in Yarmouth by Fellows shipyard (see fellows ), she was launched with a bottle of milk broken across her bows and registered in Yarmouth as YH7 on 23 May 1894, with a Board of Trade number 104064. She was built of “120lb” steel, with a 25nhp (see nhp ) steam engine from Crabtree of Yarmouth and a boiler from Farrar of Newark (see farrar ). The engine had two vertical cylinders of 8inch diameter, with a stroke of 9 and 14 inches. Her gross weight was 48.79 tons, net 23 tons. Her overall length was 72 feet 5 inches, with a 14 feet 6 inches beam and 6 feet 3 inches of hold depth. The engine room was 18 feet long.'
  17. This guide looks good: http://www.stovesonline.co.uk/stove-chimney-documentation/Installing-stoves-on-boats.pdf I had a p.m. suggesting I talk to a live-aboard at Wayford which prompted me to have a chat with one of the New Age Mariners at Oulton Broad, very helpful.
  18. If there is a Soho in Monopoly then I suspect Yarmouth would be an apt swop!
  19. You would think an old iron ship would, if she's there, be quite recognisable, There is this wreck on Breydon, https://www.flickr.com/photos/kevinmillican/4451999074/in/pool-unluckyboats but those ribs look like an old wooden ship, possibly a hapless hire boat!
  20. More oldish Reedham, 1950 ish again? I think that the steamer is the Resolute but stand to be corrected.
  21. Reedham again, but probably fifty year older, Rubbish quality, original is an old slide, but I find it fascinating to see a wherry sailing along yet seemingly about to sink!
  22. I'm guessing 1950 ish. The sailing boat number 24 is still about but I don't recognise the others.
