  11. It's always an interesting subject personally one of the biggest issues here is " Trust " .we have an authority here that constantly falls on its own sword in many fore front public areas opening the front door is the first step the handing over the family silver for most - it's like making a small snow ball then running it down a large hill ......eventually it becomes to big to control just my thoughts finny

    My Day

Sorry to be hearing about this griff .seems to be a growing trend a good pal of mine who is a heating engineer has been hit three times he even changed his van to a VW that has a full central looking system and locks every time he leaves it even if it's only for a few seconds another feature he had fitted was 360 cctv fitted one camera in the front window one above rear then one fitted inside each side mirror arm plus infra red inside the back of the van .also the cameras record 24 / 7 on to an hard drive the system also has a 7inch hd monitor in cab .....it maybe worthwhile ask Robin to do what he does best and find a system ...............I know you shouldn't have too but in these times you do - you may even get cheaper insurance finny
  19. most broads boats took form from requirements towards the hire industry and a very many of them had a double gas locker . i never run out of gas - even had room for a wrond anchor or three finny
  20. pick the bottle up and shake always worked very well for me finny
  21. i forgot to mention most broads yard pushed diesel warm air heating - when hiring they paid for the gas the customer always paid for the diesel used .............think about it finny
  22. all diesel on the broads is more or less the same price with or without the heating fitted ,iam with Vaughan towards the gas system and here are my thoughts based on my own findings firstly you have to look at the overall costs of the heater plus fitting - gas will be much cheaper the recent rise in caravan sales fitted with modern gas heating systems as made massive improvements to such equipment - personally i found my diesel heater (brand new marine version Eberspacher ) needed an ASBO the pump was a consent tick the fan was noisey and unless you ran it flatout was always sooting up Gas systems may from a cost factor work out slightly more expensive to run but you can buy a fair chunk of gas bottles with the difference in setting up costs ..........personally i found diesel units to be quite thirsty and most will only notice because its when the little gas bottle runs out as opposed to feeding diesel from a 200 ltr main fuel tank that seems limitless - i could see the difference in costs with my diesel overall .........i spent more in time and costs running the engine just to use the bloody thing .............i should have just left the gas fires in finny
