  1. In part it was me .I set up the link following the instructions. What I Did wrong along the way was ,I did something that didn't update my info each day.I'm not very tech savvy. I'm a chef.Think it would be good if they could in one shape or another keep the 2.6 going. Its a good way for those of us that can't run a marathon. From what I saw there was many that had disabilities, yet took part yesterday. That was a big plus.
  2. As I've said many times.Very happy to have raised over two hundred pounds, for the RNLI.Next up for them is the Lifeboat week, early May.Our branch, Bexleyheath normally collect in the town centre and Suppermarkets. Not sure as yet what we are going to do.I have given yesterday some thought. I intend to do something similar next year, and may do so for charities such as Asthma or COPD. Yesterday gave me personally a pick up,in doing something worthwhile. My one criticism concerning the 2.6 challenge was,the lack of publicity. I signed up after watching a clip on BBC on local news Friday 17 April. During the week leading up to yesterday there was very little publicity. Okay there was a fair bit yesterday. It would have helped if there was a bit more. That said once again I am grateful to those that sponsored me. Ian
  3. I dont have much of a problem, I use wash and gone shampoo.
  4. Its hit £220 plus £45 gift aid.I'm so pleased all be It a bit knackered.ILink will stay open.
  5. I've now hit the £200 mark,so pleased I will keep the link open if anyone wants to donate. Its 2.6 on Google, click on that drew down to donate.Type in my name Ian Hathaway. A big big thank you to those that sponsored me. Ian
  6. Yes it was warm.Perhaps the longest I've walked in ages .So far nearly £200 raised. I''m still hoping for more.
  7. Thanks for that Peter, all I know is our cat Cici who's sadly not with us now came from Ipswich. She was a bit daft.
  8. I completed my walk just after 11.00am.Perhaps the most boring walk I've done.Only needed my puffer once,a little tried but pleased I did it.I may do it come what may,if I'm able next year.perhaps for Asthma research. Thanks Ian. 20200426_100108.mp4
  9. I think deep down most people are fair, and willing to help others. In times of darkness as we have now most look out for others and pull together. There will always be some that dont care.Thankfully they are in the minority.
  10. Thanks I have so far raised almost £200.Hoping for more will keep my page open for a time its 2.6 donate and type in my name Ian Hathaway. A photo of me ,ready to start. Thanks Ian.
  11. Today's the day.I hope to raise as much as I can. Some may think,Easy walking for an hour. For many it is.With COPD, its not that easy.I will keep my puffer with me,its worth it.The more I can get the better. This day should have been the London marathon, many many charities have seen there funding reduce in these times. Its hoped the 2.6 challenge will help to fill that gap.I wanted to support the RNLI because like many having a boat it was easy .I'm a member National and local.I often collect locally. I may do the same next year,Maybe Asthma research another charity I support. If you can please sponsor me.Many thanks. Ian
  12. When will this madness end? when can we visit the pub, trips to the restaurant. Not so long ago we thought social distancing was being antisocial. Now its the norm. Not so long ago, our heroes were film ,pop stars.Bit part minor celebs. Now our heroes are Doctors Nurses .Care and key workers. Those in supermarkets, delivery ,posties .Its tough we will beat this and lets get back to normal.Stay strong ,stay safe.We will win.Lets take the good from now and keep that for the future. We are mainly looking out for one another we care about others, we support those in need.Lets see the good and disregard the bad.
  13. Okay tomorrow I do the 2.6 challenge. I'm trying to raise as much money as possible for the RNLI.Okay I'm not Captain Tom.Wont raise millions but just want to help support them.I know it's not easy for anyone. Please help me to help them. Photo of my walking track. Not quite my beloved Stamford bridge. Although at the bottom right is the shed end!I will walk 2.6 miles doing so for an hour. 20200425_185738.mp4
  14. Well one of those that can't leave the house until at least the middle of June.I will get my exercise tomorrow. I'm doing the 2.6 Challenge in aid of the RNLI.You can join me if you like.I'm looking for sponsorship.
  15. It must have been something I said. The post I did earlier regarding help and contact.Or lack of.Someone just put a card through the door, if you need help during self-isolation.
  16. You dont need a microwave. I dont have one on the boat.Never have a problem.
  17. Paul I spoke to Graham the other day.I'm worried about the batteries. He will check the boat, hopefully fire up the batteries and fit a solar panel. (We dont have shore power). Hope your both well Ian.
  18. That dont worry me,Marina's got her own cards. Ps she got me some chocolate and sweets yesterday!
  19. I was thinking yesterday, It does happen sometime. When I received texts, letters from the NHS.A phone call asking if there was anything help I needed, due to not leaving the house.I said I was okay because Marina could get shopping and my meds. However no one has called or written to me to see if my circumstances are the same or indeed if they've changed. I wondering if others have had any follow up on there circumstances? Thankfully apart from my normal condition, I feel fine.I do worry when Marina leaves the house, which could affect her health.
  20. What is starting to be very worrying is, A&E visits have dropped Theres many people it appears are afraid to check unrelated Corona virus issues with Doctors and or A&E.This could lead to many people having very serious health problems and Deaths. My friend who is fighting cancer for over a year.Has had some of he's treatment postponed. Its important if we don't feel right, theres something that's not normal get it checked. Its a real possibility that more people could die unnecessarily, because some are afraid to get symptoms checked out. Andrew and Chris I feel for you both and wish you well.
  21. Not an easy thing to do,thanks for sharing.
  22. Marina just told me when I went into hospital. My oxygen levels were 50%.I describe it as drowning on dry land you wonder where your next breath is going to be your last.Something I don't want to go through again.
